But, "• You can also set up a standing order to make regular payments to your ISA."
So I would assume that if they accept a SO from another bank, then they'll take a BACS payments too.0 -

I recently opened a Barclays cash ISA account with £10 with the intention to top up the remaining balance of £3590 (annual allowance for 2008/2009). Shockingly the financial adviser had no clue as to wether i can do an internet transfer for the amount from my Lloys current account into this account. Could someone kindly advise me if you can, if not what is the best way to get that money transferred before 5 april2009.
thanks
As I understand it Lloyds havn't signed up to the faster payments service for their internet banking service. Therefore the payment will take 3/5 days to be credited to the account.
The Golden ISA will accept an internet transfer to it.0 -
Thanks for that quick response, will have to get on that right away!!0

Old info - Barclays ISAs have always accepted internet trasnfers.
The reason they print stuff like this is because until now they had no way of checking how much had been deposited so you could have gone over your ISA limit.
The Faster Payments system (and BACS) have no way of know what type of account your paying into, so there is no way of stopping the payment if the sort code and account number are valid.0 -

Perhaps they should get their act together, if this is the case, as this specifically refers to the Golden ISA.
Sorry - I should have said recycled content. The key facts have been the same for the past few years, seems they only change the name of the account and the limits if needed.
Plus - if you go into a branch they can try a flog you more products - so why would they want to change it.0
