Got some good news today - I'm keeping my job!

There will be no compulsory redundancies in my office as the number of people applying for voluntary hit the target, so that's a huge weight off my mind. :p

I'm going to have to be careful though, because I am worried that I'll slip off the bandwagon now that I know my job's secure. I'm really going to have to be focused on becoming debt free so that I keep on track!

    :T
Goals for 2010 - pay off £3160 debt. Come on Pamela!

Stay on the bandwagon! Really good news your job is secure - start saving and paying off debt anyway as with the recession as bad as it there is no guarantee that any job will stay safe!

Cheers for the support SavingHolmes. I know I'm going to have to really focus because I really want rid of the debt I've got, so I'm staying on the bandwagon!

But I think it's just that initial hurrah! moment that makes me want to celebrate, and I know that's totally silly and I won't, but I don't really trust myself. So I'm leaving my cashcard at home the next few days, just in case!

Been off work sick today :(

It's been good in a way because between sleeping and feeling sick, I've not been able to go out at all, so no money spent at all.

I also took some time to update my spreadsheet, so I think I've planned right up until June's payday! :T

Obviously there are going to be things that I've forgotten/things that come up unexpectedly, but if everything goes to plan, I can get three sizable bills paid off by then. It's a nice feeling, so I'm hoping that I can stick to that, or even better it, so that I can have a reasonably stress-free summer

Well done on the NSD and the spreadsheet. when I first joined here it was like I still hadn't had my LBM it tooks weeks or months for me to get there - but once I did - I was well away on the debt busting... You can only start from where you are - you seem to be taking steps in the right direction - and one day you will get there.... (hope that doesn't sound patronising - I'm aiming for encouraging but it has been a busy day!!!)

  • Hi guys - Happy Easter:easter_ba

I've been eating lots of Easter eggs to console myself after a weekend of spending.

I must say, I'm struggling a little bit at the minute. I'm not overspending at all, and am still sticking roughly to my budget, but I just feel that I've had a lot of unnecessary spending this week.

I got some freelance money in that I wasn't expecting, which was really nice, and when it arrived, I immediately put half of it towards paying off a credit card. But the other £50 just sat in my account, and I stupidly went and SPENT it!! :o

I had a lovely time going to the Peaks and just having a nice time, and I bought a new top, but now I'm kicking myself because I'm thinking how I could have used it.

Somebody shout at me and make me feel suitable shamed please!

hi, can't make you feel ashamed as i've been just as bad this weekend and i wasn't spending unexpected additional money. Glad you weren't made redundant in the end, it's a horrible thing isn't it.

    Hi Pam

Everyone needs treats now and again to keep them on the straight and narrow, otherwise it all becomes to much

I think you should congratulate yourself on using half the freelance money towards your debt (before your LBM would you have spent all of it)

Maybe you should try some more freelancing work and split it 50/50, this could then be your treat/debt income

Good luck and well done on what you have done so far
