Hello everyone - been a bit dull and gloomy here in Essex today - every time the lads at work tried to get on with painting it rained again!
Beth - congrats on becoming a DGM (Dear GrandMother!) and well done to your DD
Happy Anniversary FE and Husband
Hockey glad to hear all's going well with the move etc. Likewise Csarina - I bet you can't wait to get moved in now!
RosyRed give Flylady a go - I realy didn't think it was for me but it;s made such a difference. Just gives you targets to aim for and points you in the right direction when you're wondering what to do next!
Mrstittlemouse   over the car - glad they were seen though and will hopefully get what they deserve - hope it's not too much hassle to get sorted
WM has been on since I got in from work and a bit of general sorting out - Mondays flylady tasks are now complete. I have some photos to get processed on the computer tonight so that will take up most of the evening I should imagine. The TV's not gone on for three nights now - I'm very impressed! Spagetti bolognese for tea tonight - if I get the chance in a while I might do the lamb mince for tomorrow night's tea which is Teviot Pie - savoury mince with a suet crust lid. Not done it for ages so it will make a nice change. If I don't get that done though it's not really a problem as it's quick enough to do tomorrow.
I'm trying to do several short bursts on my stepper each evening until we go away - it's surprisingly hard work but it would be nice to be a bit more ready for walking up hills!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

wannabe_sybil wrote: »No OS today. First little bear went to speech therapy, where they said that if we have any further concerns we can get back in touch but he is obviously managing fine. We are being encouraged to use the Makaton sign language little bear has taught himself watching Ceebeebies. Apparently he is very advanced with some things like co-ordination and he recognises colours very clearly.
Then little bear bumped his head in movement class. I have learned a very robust attitude to bumps, obviously, but this time I think he actually knocked himself cold for a second. His eyes rolled back and he went limp and twitched a little. Then he didn't know where he was for about five minutes, and after that he needed heavy duty mum cuddles. By the time dear heart arrived to take us to A&E he was almost back to normal. By the time a doctor saw him in A&E he had been playing quietly for two and a half hours getting more and more tired. I can let him sleep tonight, but I have to check on him every few hours to make sure it is asleep and not unconscious.
Well, I put the put up bed in the bedroom, intending to sleep in there. However, despite having had a very tiring day and no nap he is still up there playing - fascinated by the put up bed. I am shattered down here praying that he gets some sleep soon!
Hugs to all.0 -
taplady - well done on the gee-gee's win :T
moggins - sorry to hear you're not feeling good. I'd hire for someone based on their personality any day of the week :A
bargain bird - can Ke7285 and I borrow your DH please. There's mirrors and toilet roll holders and shelves that need his attention
Rosyred - good news on the carpet, there's something very addictive about carpet cleaners :T
Well......I HAVE CUPBOARDS!!! Woohoo :j :j :j
We got them in and cleaned in two hours. Didn't attach them to the wall or anything, just put them into place and put some spare work surface on top. But it's soooooo lovely to be able to put things away at last. Even got the fridge back in the kitchen, although now I keep going out into the hallway to space where it used to be to get the milk to make a cup of tea :rotfl:
I did the writing I had to do while hubby had a sleep and dinner was ready spot on 7pm, so I've put my feet up with a glass of wine.
At 9pm I'll do the washing up and then it's a lovely long soak with a book.
How'd every one do today?"carpe that diem"0 -
Just checked last page and obviously congrats to bethebee!!!
WS - my son used to bash himself about like mad at that age - egg sized shapes appearing like cartoons etc. Took him to casualty one time when he fell down concrete steps (age 2 and wearing wellies - in a holiday house - took eyes off him for a couple of mins). Anyway, same advice as you have got which is scary to receive but he was fine, as little bear will be. He wouldn't have played etc afterwards. Mine just wanted to sleep. Anyway, he's a strapping 22 year old now. Make sure you get some sleep tonight as well. ((((hugs)))) to you

Hello everyone
Wannabe Sybil, best wishes to Little Bear, and that he's fine and his usual self.
My day...well, I got a nice letter in reply to an interview I went to a couple of weeks ago. If the person who got the job:rolleyes: turns it down or leaves in the next six months then I'll automatically be appointed. I am pleased, sort of, thought it'd have been better to have been the actual appointee. I think that if similar jobs come up within the organisation in other departments I will get first shout as well - fingers, toes, ankles and eyes crossed something comes of it.
Bet, congratulations on the birth of your grandchild.
EssexHibridean - hmm, yeah, think I should shuffle off to the flylady thread and get into it. I really do live in chaos, it's like I have some sort of selective vision and can't detect dust, dirt, untidy messes etc etc unless I actively look, which is usually when there's an unexpected visitor at the door and I'm then usually too embarrassed to let the person in:o:o:o
TapLady, congrats on your windfall. Do spend it all at once - really, you deserve to treat yourself to something special.
I had the last of my lovely mince tonight along with brocolli and pasta. It was yummilicious. Tomorrow I'll make some spicy parsnip soup as I picked up a bag of parsnips for about 20p yesterday and they need using up. I hope I can find the recipe on here as I noticed a few other people have made it recently.
It's nearly beddy byes time. Good night everyone.
