Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 10th March. This is an 'Over the garden fence' type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly, but if not, it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two Daily Threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new Daily Thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “Hi everyone, hope you are all well” type start is just as good!
Morning.
Thought the thread would have been started by now... Windy and cool here, wet overnight, so the garden is soggy again. It never seems to dry out.
Managed to get several 'day off' jobs done yesterday. Fixed and replaced some broken vinyl floor tiles in the conservatory. Fixed up a new chicken run (they don't like being penned in) made a nice Hungarian stew for tea with my reduced beef and generaly made progress.
Today I have to service th OH car,and find 2 new tyres cheap somewhere. I still clean have to clean the office which is messier than ever.
Well, packed lunch time again.... I hate that job.#
Cheers

Wet and rainy here today, does not look nice out at all, I have at least one load of washing to do, it will have to be hung inside today.
DD has woken up very tired again, roll on Friday and the blood tests.
Chicken and veg pie for tea, which was made and frozen a while ago, so thats easy, just the mash and veg to do.
I went on my Wii fit for an hour yesterday, I love it its so addictive, and it must be doing me some good, will aim for the same again today.
Will give the bathroom a good going over today, hoover through and mop floors.
Well thats is from me, nothing too exciting  , hugs where needed
Have good days all xx0 -

Morning, early posting today as yest was so busy I didn't get time to look at my own stuff on the computer. It was my first day back at work after a week off and it was bedlam, sometimes wonder if it is worth having the time off as all my work just sits and waits till I get back. Plus we were very short staffed so I ended up having to cover for other people in the afternoon (I usually finish about 2 - 2.30 after starting about 6.30) So I am shattered today.
Went out to see a preview of Marley and Me last night and laughed and cried so much, very good film if you like animals.
Have to stay late at work again today, but really must get chance to do some tidying up when I get home, funny how even though I am not the one in the house, I am always the one who ends up sorting out their mess!!
Hugs to all who need or want them. Hope you all have a good day, I will try to catch up with everyones news this evening if I get chance to sit down and relax."Keep smiling, it makes people wonder what you are up to........"Dieting ........... is no piece of cake!!!!:D

Morning all,
I hate making lunches too N9eav. I do DH while I"m making tea though. 5am & I don't really agree.I've got to do mine as well as I"m going to do the market run again with him as I"m still a free woman. DGD back on Thursday.
Wet & windy here atm as well. Cyclone seems to behaving itself and it's still out to sea and been downgraded but we are getting the wind & rain from it.
Made another batch of soup today. and been working on my recipe book. I can see the end of the tunnel though as I've got only 4 more categories to go. DD wants me to print out and make her one too. My other one I made up and added to has lasted me years. I gave it to XDIL for a lend and it came back with the spine damaged. So it's been falling apart slowly.
Ruby I hope the blood tests shed some light on her symptoms.
Well I suppose I better get back in the kitchen and think about what I"m having for tea. Need to get rid of some eggs, so might be an omelette. DH will say some comment about it being breakfast  but who cares.
<hugs> to those that need them & Happy Birthday to Racy. :kisses3: Have a happy day . ByeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeDon't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -
Morning Everyone,
((((((((((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))))))) where needed. A quieter day here I'm going to give the bathroom a good going over though. I opened the cabinet door last night to put something away (that someone else had used grrrr) and half of its contents fell out so I'm going to get ruthless! I'm sure that DD & I don't need the 30 odd nail varnishes that are in there lol!!! I'll also take My Mum & Dad shopping as Dad still can't drive after the stroke. His progress is great now although Mum said that he'd put all his hospital appointments in the diary using the name of a hospital that closed down years ago, bless him.
Lunch will be something easy as it'll only be me (DH worked last night so will be in bed) dinner is pasta bake that I'll try to get done this afternoon so it'll only need heating up later. Shopping list to do as well ready for tomorrow & dogs to walk. All in all not a very exciting day. Hope that everyone has a good one.

Morning all!
Not been around for a while, but have been keeping up with all your news.
Weezel - gorgeous baby:T
N9eav - followed the discussion re your tackle with great interest!:D
csarina - good news on the house front:T
... and lots more thoughts/prayers/hugs to all those I can't call to mind right now.
Been a bit down in the dumps for a while - I know I'm lucky to have a job right now - but I HATE IT!!! Dragon knickers has been doing her thing- I can't, it seems, do anything right (for that, read 'her way'). As long as I don't offer an opinion/view on anything, don't think for myself, don't show inititative, be a team player but only do things that are listed in my job description and generally play the doormat then I will survive another day:rotfl:
OS-wise, I'm having a whale of a time. I've got the No Spend Day down to a fine art. I also cleaned the shower screen with vinegar and have to keep popping in the bathroom to look at it:rotfl: I can't believe how well it worked! I am also a Stardrops convert......
I have always meal-planned, but am working now on the stockpiling/freezer batch cooking thing.
Lovely to get the washing on the line over the weekend - all the bed linen smells lovely:T
Have a good day peeps - will keep popping in throughout the day to see what you are all up to.:j[DFW Nerd club #1142 Proud to be dealing with my debt:TDMP start date April 2012. Amount £21862:eek:April 2013 = £20414:T April 2014 = £11000 :TApril 2015 = £9500 :T April 2016 = £7200:T

Hmm, i leaned on a key and my message got scoffed by the laptop gremlins!
Good morning all. I'm sitting here with my lamp as it's so gloomy this morning. I was indoors at the convention all weekend and elected not to take my lamp as I wouldn't have time to use it. How right I was! We had to appear on Saturday morning at 8am having had breakfast and in Full makeup and hair done. This might not sound that much, but we'd all been up well before the crack of dawn the day before. And full make up (no offence intended!) is what a dept store cosmetics consultant wears, plus more! If you have to ask "have I got enough blusher/fake tan/bronzer/eyeliner/mascara/lippy on ?" then the answer is probably 'no'. Added to that the logistics of getting into Spanx knickers or your chosen equivalent for that fantastic line to your clothes...... you get the picture!
A more leisurely start today, as my first lesson is at 11.15, but plenty to do here OS before I go. I have ds off school with rather bad throat. DD is quite poorly in Mexico with chest infection and I feel rather helpless. She phoned last night and told me it was the first time she has been ill without her mum or grandma to look after her. Sob! Anyway, her dad is visiting in a month, so she can look forward to that.
It's so messy here, I need to go and do something....at least at the end of lamp time! WIll stay here till then.
Hope you have better weather than us and enjoy your day if you are able."Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"

Looking a bit gloomy here! Think we're in for a wet day!
Well I've cooked the lamb mince ready for the moussaka tonight but still not sure how to finish it off. Been looking at recipes on the internet and various books and they're all different! Some have potatoes, some different sauces. Delia's has eggs whipped into the sauce to make it rise. HELP!!!
Thanks ISOM for the info re Lemon Drizzle cake. Which Nigella book was it in? Found a recipe for her lemon loaf but not sure if that's the right one?
More housework to do after work today and then HMS Pinafore rehearsal.
I've been dealing with post as it arrives but still have a backlog of paperwork to file/shred. What do peeps on here do with the shredded paper?
Better finish getting ready for work now!
(((Hugs))) to everyone who needs one.
