Congratulations to betheebee and weezl:j :j
Hester
Glad your OH is not reliant on BILs as much and hope he gets more work from the school.
Made DD a bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwich for breakfast as a special treat as she gets her dental brace off today.
Feeling a bit better today so made DH a huge all day breakfast when he got back later this morning.
DD asked him to tell me she might not be able to manage the sweet potato burger I had planned to make tonight so have some mince and tatties in the fridge that should be easy for her to eat.
Even convinced DH to try some of my homemade elderberry syrup to ward off a virus.
Enjoying some peace and quiet and catching up on here but will need to pop out later for some veg and maybe a look at the local charity shop
Hugs to all and see you later"This site is addictive!"

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY FAIRY ELEPHANT :T :T
How many years have you been together?[/I]Steel....I think we may be living with the same man!! My OH has been asked for ....oh around 7 months now...to shelf our bedroom cupboard for me and give it a fresh coat of paint after a wee spell of dampness! Finally, we made some progress at the weekend but only after several trips to several DIY stores to make sure he was buying the right stuff for it! Now correct me if im wrong but i would think it was just, bracket + shelves and bobs your uncle...apparently not! im guestimating that it will be finished by about mid 2012
You'll probably find he didn't have the right size screws  If they have the right size screws, they have the wrong size rawplugs. If they have the right size screws and rawplugs, they have the wrong size drill bit. If in the unlikely event they have all three of the right size, I can guarantee they won't be able to find the chuck that loosens the bit holder on the drill.
Anyway, how is everyone else's day coming along?
After a most unpromising start, I have somehow managed a few minor miracles.
I had a nice breakfast for once (boiled fresh laid eggs and latte made with real Italian espresso), cleaned up the kitchen in preparation for the impending move of the cupboards, put a loaf of bread on, prepared the beef stew in the slow cooker (with three cats hanging off me screaming as if they hadn't been fed for a week) hung up the wet washing, watered and sorted out my veg seedlings in the conservatory and changed the bed.
Then I went for a 30 minute walk round the village and I'm off now to make cupboard noises around hubby while it is still light. I aim to sit down and write between 4 and 7pm then serve dinner."carpe that diem"0 -
Afternoon all.
Congratulations Weezl and Betheebee's DD
Happy anniversary FairyElephant
Happy Birthday RacyRed
Didn't get online yesterday as I was too busy, cooking/baking and doing a whole load of paperwork, trying to work out what membership stuff the Post Office managed to NOT deliver to me last December. I have a list of what appears to be missing, just need to wait for the next envelope of stuff that I know is on it's way, then I can (hopefully) get it all sorted. Complicated by the fact that I'm looking after my own region, "babysitting" another region cos they can't get anyone, and just to keep it interesting, I now have a 3rd region as the guy who was doign it doesn't want to anymore. And he hasn't passed the files on yet. GRRRR:mad::mad:
Anyway, I overdid it big time yesterday, so NOTHING will be done here today, OS or otherwise, apart from getting Mr LW to help me wash my hair this evening. It's at times like this that I HATE this illness.
Anyway, I hope you're all having a good day, going back to my blanket on the sofa now.:oIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Afternoon all!
Gather congrats are due to Weezl and Beth's dd, will have a look for pics later - hope there are some!
Been away for the weekend, having a fab old time in Brighton with old school friends, it was brilliant. Have now worked out how to put photos on facebook, so have put on the ones of the Bristol OS meet as well - Fairy Elephant you are there in all your glory!
OS today have hoovered, S&S the kitchen, tidied, put on bm and wm and roasted a chicken in the moski ready for dinner tonight.
Lunches for the kids were pasties, raisins, apple, gingerbread rabbits (from Asda, but they made me giggle!) and yoghurt with honey. Mine was cheese on toast and veg soup.
Dinner will be roast chicken with potato and celeriac mash and savoy cabbage and carrots. Pud will be something dd2 whizzes up when she gets in!
Went to see dd3 in an arts festival this morning, today was choral speech, the tinies are so cute when they do it, and it's lovely that all the children are encouraged to join in, not just those who are really talented. Just a shame that more of the local schools don't participate. Tomorrow we have singing! Well we don't, dd3 does! Don't think anyone would want to hear me, the people who witnessed my karaoke on Saturday are probably still in recovery lol!
Hope everyone has a good day xxGC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000 -
Congratulations on the new granddaughter Betheebee & well done Weezl on the birth of Fergus! He is gorgeous!!! :j
Happy Anniversary Mr & Mrs FairyElephant!! :smileyhea
Thanks Bargainbird for the tip re shredded paper.
Bathroom and kitchen cleaned last night and all washing up to date so going to nip out for an hour and take my Mum to see her sister. They are both in their eighties but you wouldn't think it. Taking my laptop to show Aunty all the photos of my DGD I haven't got around to printing yet!
Easing my guilt really as I have had to cancel our weekly shopping trip tomorrow as I'm going to the GYM!!! Got a GP referral last week to help my with my back problems and asthma so it will be free for a few weeks. Will hopefully help me to lose some weight!
(((Hugs))) to all those in need!

Afternoon :hello:
It poured down as soon as I went out the door this morning, thank goodness my car was working (the battery is a bit tempremental)
But by the time I had finished at Mums the sun was shining, really makes you feel good does'nt it, the sun? even if its still a bit nippy out.
WM is doing its stuff with Mums washing, just sheets and towels so they can go out under the back cover.
OH has just got back with an element for the cooker, just hope its the right one, I dont want to buy a new cooker yet, we have planned to put a new kitchen in next year so I just hope it lasts until then, mind you it is 10 yrs old, and the hob is older than that:eek: its ceramic and sooo easy to clean.
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY Fairy Elephant have a lovely meal:T

Sorry I forgot but meant to say that I shred all our paper for the gerbils bedding. If you don't have them perhaps you might know someone who would want it for gerbils, hamsters & the like?0

Afternoon everyone
Congratulations on the new babies and happy anniversary fairy elephant.
Woke up this morning with a head full of cottonwool and aching limbs, not good when I had a job interview to go to. So I probably messed up completely as I couldn't think of a single suitable question to ask them. I did manage to make them laugh a couple of times though so maybe they will hire me for my sparkling wit and personality0
