Congratulations on passing and a nice car to start with. The pass plus is a great idea as normally reduces the premium and genuinely improves you driving skills.

Some questions that could help us help you

    When do you turn 22

    Have you got a girlfriend

Do you know the Total Excess (Voluntary and Compulsory Excesses combined) you have to pay if you have an accident?

Which insurer has quoted you it

Sorry for being a realist - but i'd consider that a good quote for your first years insurance.

Remember, you are one of the highest risks on the road and you will pay the price in your first 12 months. I know this wont be what you want to hear but we've all had to do it and nobody ever said being a driver is a cheap hobby!

All I can suggest is adding an older female (mum?) to the policy as a named driver as this can drop the price slightly.

Is TP F+T cover an option?

Wish I could be more helpful, just don't crash in the first year!!
Top Tip is £450 away from clearing the overdraft and being debt free

Sorry if i comfused you but i am currently 20 turning 21 in may this year, i don't have a girlfreind and the total excess is £350 and it was with Highway Insurance Co LTD

Also thanks well it was a choice between the Toyota Aygo, Citreon C1, Peugeot 107 all the same car made by same people with same engine, but i went with the citreon because it was cheapest and im not really bothered about looks or colour, all my needs are covered Low co2 Band B (£35) , Low Servicing, Good MPG (62 Com), Good Safety (4 Star), Low Depreciation

Like top tip said its actually quite a good price, if you keep your nose clean next years premium will come down massively, the first years is always the worst (Unless you have lots of claims).

It might be worth taking that cover out bearing in mind you have a Citroen C1 and that big accident in Southend yesterday. You never know they might put the prices up

I read it in the paper earlier, the paper said it left the road and hit a group of 30 people.

Very nasty business a lot of poeple hurt.

Some Insurer is going to be getting a seriously big personal injury claim for a lot of people. I would not be surprised if the cars insured in one of the parents names, the Insurers will go through everything with a fine tooth comb
