VANQUIS and Credit Limit Raises

He said it will cost only £2 for CRA's but I have been read around and alot of people send £10 to Experian and Equifax. So before you send it double check the correct fee.
Hi Sutton,
Yes mate I did say it was £2 and am correct! If you read the template SAR letter then you'll see the paragraph that the ICO confirm the amount. Its not up to the CRA what they charge, they are told what to charge.
If you read the SAR template letter (page 6 of Vanquis I think) it clearly tells you that you need to remove a paragraph if you send SAR to Hunters/CIFAS as they charge £10 not £2. The paragraph also has the link where I got the text from. Here is the post: #117
The text is here:
I have sent a payment of £2 for the SAR, so please do not reply asking for £10 because in case you were not aware; the following guidelines explain all:
‘Under the Data Protection Act, individuals can ask to see the information about themselves that is held on computer and in some paper records. If an individual wants to exercise this subject access right, they should write to the person or organisation that they believe is processing the data. The following quote was taken from the Information Commissioners Office, found here: http://www.ico.gov.uk/tools_and_resources/glossary.aspx#s
A subject access request must be made in writing and must be accompanied by the appropriate fee. In most cases, the maximum fee will be £10, but this can vary, particularly if the information requested is for health or educational records. If a subject access request is made to a credit reference agency, then the fee is £2, and the information must be provided within seven working days. A request must include enough information to enable the person or organisation to whom the subject is writing to satisfy itself as to their identity and to find the information.
A reply must be received within 40 days (excluding credit reference agencies) as long as the necessary fee has been paid. A data controller should act promptly in requesting the fee or any further information necessary to fulfil the request. If a data controller is not processing personal information of which this individual is the data subject, the data controller must reply saying so.’
How dare you question me! hahahaha bad boy!

Thanks for the correction.

Haha - you ok mate? Sorry but it's frustrating when I added the links to the site I got the info and you guys still question me! I'm not going to sit there and let you send a tenner to them all, cos they will probably write back saying that you should pay a tenner that is why I added the quote from the ICO which clearly states CRA's can charge a maximum of 2 quid.
Just trying to save you guys a few quid mate, that's all..... I had already written 70 quid of cheques, glad I found that snippet of info as it saved me 40 quid!

I'm fine thanks. How are you?
So what have you sent or still to send in your S.A.R battle? I suppose your trying to find out about the dodgy infomation Equifax, and S.A.R them will give you the needed information to battle them.
Any movements on the case on CAG?
I didn't know as I was looking on CAG and some people were sending £10 cheques for S.A.R.0 -

Hi mate - i've sent everything to all 7 of em, just waiting patiently now......
No movements just yet, will be soon though
and yes, I know what you're saying but the CRA's will try and get a tenner, all i'm doing is going by the ICO website - bear in mind the ICO oversee CRA's then i'm presuming their info is indeed correct - unlikely not to be. That's why i've added the text within the template letter - this text should be removed when you SAR Cifas/Hunter as they are not CRA's, but all the others are even though they may not like it - to classify and earn DPA registration they had to register as CRA's but do not work the same, for instance.

Hi mate - you ok?
Sorry wasn't having a rant at you guys, if it sounded that way sorry was saying it in a joking way......
I'm getting stressed cos the usual suspects are laying into the guys who want to get CC debt written off. It is sooooo annoying when the 'preachers' start spouting their nonsense!!! "you took the card so pay it back" - NO! Why should I if I don't have to? Sir Fred aint paying me my tax back that he's stolen for his pension is he? LOL
sorry - ranting again!!! I need a dime bar!
