  • Thick mist or possibly low cloud ...... can't tell the difference, here. So it's wet, grey & miserable. Obviously above freezing but doesn't much feel like it. Roll on Spring. Winter is getting very boring now :rotfl:

It's been quite pleasant here and we went to the Shire Horse Centre to entertain our 3 monkeys but I'm now in bed feeling yukky and think I might finally be succumbing to the bug they've had this week :(

We had frost on Friday, here's a picture of my OH taken with the ice disk he removed from one of the bird baths.

All melted now, and looks like it's going to stay a bit warmer for at least a while. Time to think about planting some bean and pea seeds I think!

Dank and chill early am at car boot. Sunday pm usual recovery lethargy interrupted by cooking etc as DW has chest infection after visiting MIL.

Maybe get into seed sowing mood next week. And divide chives which are shooting up.

Thinks chooks may be moved onto veg beds not weeded for a while :o

Ours were on the veg bed today, but only by accident. I was changing a tap washer broken by the frost and I forgot to latch the gate properly when I went to the workshop.

I'd let them on there more, but I don't want to give the chooks ideas about free ranging around the garden. A high % could fly out any time if they really wanted to.

I'm digging up some of my leeks now, as the ones that went in early are way past their best and bolting. Similarly, the early parsnips were a disaster, being heavily cankered as a result of carrot root fly damage.

Sometimes it doesn't pay to get off to a very early start. :(

The weather is due to be dry here tomorrow so I am looking forward to getting some things done in the garden. I have decided just to create a weed pile as I can't delay getting the garden sorted and the compost bins are not getting emptied until March.

Spent most of the wekend listing on Ebay & now the weather's turned really cold & windy & that is the forecast for the week. Hope to pick up wood from sawmill this week - well got someone with a tractor & trailer to give us a lift with it - so that'll be good. It's paid for - so that's even better.

All the Planning stuff has changed again making OH's job even more difficult - all this tinkering with council stuff is quite mad - some bright spark on a fat income who doesn't live in the real world must of dreamt it up no doubt.

Hope my ebay stuff goes well as I've dragged everything into the caravan & the place looks like someone's who is in urgent need of a social worker.

Alfie the caravan is a complete disgrace & I just pile stuff everywhere. I hope the bills settle down, but I know what you mean - It's such a dear time is Winter - prices of everything have shot up & we live really cheaply. I don't know how folks manage at all.

We live so far away from car boot sales it's ridiculous but we may venture to one in the better weather.
The winds really blowing up now.

Alfie If you ask dave nicely I'm sure he'll send you some seeds.
