    :Devening all...

    i have had a "black" day....literally !!:rotfl:

i had a call this morning...could i go and salvage some rooms in a cottage where the oil fired "woodstove" had decided to explode ..:rotfl: well it split the seams and blew the door open and deposited black black soot everywhere....:( i didnt know where to start so sat with a cuppa trying to come to a decision.....where to start..?:rotfl: i had to hoover every surface and the walls to start, then wash sills and doors then i realised as i hoovered that more soot was coming up through the carpet than i first thought :( so the carpet is a right off... it had gone into the hall and part of the kitchen aswell....took me what seemed forever but it sparkled when id finished ...apart from carpet and a rug :o
its amazing how many cobwebs there are when they get soot on em..:rotfl: looked like halloween on 1st look ...:D

i was black too...wondered why i was getting funny looks at the garage on the way home...:rotfl:

I'm here, been blogging but I am back!

Also tried to knit a toy pig with no joy, maybe I would have better luck keeping real ones :rotfl:

Just realised that I have enough seeds (mainly free or hugely reduced) to keep my family in food for the next few years, although I do ge the sneaking suspicion that I may buy more :o

  • You only managed to make a pig's ear then, Rummer? ;)

We haven't really started to look at seeds yet. It will still be a month or more before we can safely sow outside here. As we seem to have a boxful (most probably out of date) we'll probably just throw what we've got in & see if anything comes up.

I have been totally inept today and nothing I have tried has worked!

As for seeds I just seem to pick up a few packets every couple of weeks, I think it is because it is too early to start sowing but there is a definite hint of spring in the air.

Sorry, I was AWOL at a panto rehearsal, came home at tennish, ate and collapsed. Just woken up! :(

On the matter of seeds, those who asked for some should know they're in the post. They will be a few days, I expect, as I only had 2nd class stamps.... :o

Yes, alfie, I think the mystery is solved. It wasn't very hard. The chain saw will be coming out shortly, I expect. violent-smiley-009.gif

Alf, took your suggestion and made a temporary card mouthpiece, blew and my eardrums are still shaking! Like a loud bugle. So I've listed it as Choilles ox horn with a nod to Itsme's erchenkov (?)

Chooks are laying well since their early winter all stop and I'm thinking about getting seed compost in for the toms and peppers. Need to cut bean poles as well. DW away atm so house reverting to batchelor look :D
