'Munstead' is hardiest, or there's 'Hidcote,' but bearing in mind what you've said about your garden, no lavender will tolerate having wet feet in winter, so I would take it steady on the buying and see what happens.
I am going to put them in long planters so they will have good conditions soils wise.Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -

rhiwfield....package arrived today safely. it was so well wrapped /taped it was quite a feat opening it :rotfl::rotfl:
DW likes to set these little challenges

And two days without howling gales nor any rain, but bluddery freezey about.
Got this Labyrinthitis thing which is tricky & a dash nuisance so feel like I'm on a boat.
rhiwfield - you can free list by going to USA ebay - ebay.com, log in & list for free - apparently.
Must read what you said about powerselling etc earlier - just skip read 3-4pages - you're all a blethery lot, hard to keep up.
Had a good sort out of a few boxes of stuff managed tolist a fair bit last weekend & sold a fair few bits despite feeling ruff ruff - so could buy another window or two - hurrah.
Anyone have any tips for doing a living fence? A curlicue one - all Art Nouveau - ish? Willow? Hazel?

I love the pics of your bonfire on your blog Choille

I have started a blog to track my progress in the garden this year as well as my craft interests. It will be good to see how things change over the coming weeks and months.Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -

Hi Rummer - good for you, lok forward to reading your blog - I'll be a follower - like a stalker, but nicer!
Itsmehonest - cheers for that. I saw a fence & I think it was at The Earth centre Leeds - been an old coal yard * they were just putting it in - all curves & gay abandon - that's me all over...............0 -
God I hate this woodburner. I want to scrap them and have open fires. They work better for me, I'm really not saving that much wood at all with the woodburner, and I'm freezing with it on today.
Also, a bit annoys that neighbour didn't tell me his cattle have ringworm.....they are very attentive so I am sure he has noticed. I didn't know until i looked over the wall to scratch the nose of a cow who wanted some attention, and saw the patches. When in that patch the horses and the cows often kiss, and I fed a horse in there earlier this week.....a clients horse..
Have warned clients and apologised.0 -

I know the feeling, lir. We got rid of our burner because it was more trouble than it was worth.lostinrates wrote: »Also, a bit annoys that neighbour didn't tell me his cattle have ringworm.....they are very attentive so I am sure he has noticed. Have warned clients and apologised. Not good & unusual if you're all on friendly terms.
Nothing done today as dh has been under the weather & I've crept round trying not to wake him up.
He'll probably be wide awake & wanting to watch TV all night when I'm wanting to sleep :rotfl:
It's been fairly bright but chilly here.
Dave - I see they'll be star-gazing from over Dulverton (tomorrow?) I hope they've picked one of the 5 days/nights per year it isn't raining there
Apparently they want all the town to turn their lights off.
Why not just go over the hill where there are no lights anyway?
Reality TV :rotfl:0 -
If the town turn their lights off maybe they will see and appreciate what they ar emissions...I hope it catches on.
Glad it's not just me who is fed up of wood burners. The main convienience for me is I can safely stored a couple/few days wood in the huge inglenook away from the burner, which of course can't do with an open fire but it's cold, yet hot enough to burn you,...it just melted my pjs, and while I appreciate that economy and efficiency are important, I feel a couple of extra logs a night...may be less than that if I can get logs cut bigger instead for a dog'n'grate, I get more heAt and just accept I'll need a fire guard.0
