MMMMMMMMMMMMMmmmmmm pheasant is lovely as long as it's not hung for months 'til the maggots are dropping out of its nether regions.

I like it done with an orange sauce which isn't normal....

Gone really wet & very cold here - ground like porridge & slid outside the caravan earlier. Went to a little beach near here that's got lovely sand dunes & I wadded across a stream to discover I have a welly leak. Then the rain came across in curtains & we were soaked by the time we ran back to the car clutching driftwood & what looks like some eagle's feathers.

temps dropped outside a fair bit this evening, but we're HOT in the sitting room, having got used to being without the woodburner, having it lit is really very warm!

its been a funny old day to say the least ! miserable rain/drizzle now getting colder and windyer [is that a word??]
ive shifted 8 sacks of feed from van to bins. silly move !!
    ive paid for my logs.....
ive bought ONE present and when i got in i put the kettle on and realised i had no sugar .... i struggled with my cuppa as i was desperate but having weighed up the prospect of a sugarless evening, i trudged off to the garage to get some ...only to be caught BOTH ways by the bl**dy train gates ! oh boy im kernacked and fed up now !
i am a miserable moo [LIR ...no apology till i said,[then half hearted,] re last weeks fiasco then got told it was my fault !?] today and im thankfull im sat here alone with people that dont judge .

oh im so sorry being a party pooper......

You poop as much as you like....errr..if you see what I mean! :o

I gave up sugar in tea as a kind of bet with DW's grandfather about 30 years ago.

He said "Give it up for a fortnight and I bet you won't switch back!"

I said "All right, but I bet I do!" (I was a 2-3 spoonfuls man)

But he was right.:o I couldn't go back, though I don't think I tried until about a month had passed. :A

Edit: Our gates are worked by the train driver, who has to stop to operate them, so if he sees a pedestrian, he waves them across first. We are very civilized here. :)

    Good Morning!

I can't get over how mild it is here today and if it wasn't pouring with rain and if I didn't have a horrendous amount of things to do I would be out pottering about the garden :D

happy christmas eve to you all :xmassmile

well you know my " funny old day " yesterday...... it turned even funnier !!

i got carted auft to ospital :o my back went into spasm and couldnt move much. son had had a drink so couldnt drive me and he called ambulance :o.....

anyway i was being hooked up,prodded, xrayed and monitered till 4am :( then plonked in a ward with HINGE & BRACKET AND "DANNY LE RUE".... I had one talking in thier sleep non stop, another snoring non stop and the 3rd emmiting suspect odours like it was the olympics :D
To be met by half a dozen cornflakes doing a cross channel swim in a pint of milk really woke me from my by now hallucigenic stupour !!

by 8am i decided that even if i crawled on all fours i was "better":rotfl:...i saw the neuro surgeon and convinced him i would be fine till after xmas for an MRI scan.....;)

i had to wait to be "cleared for take off"....meanwhile the sleep talker continued whilst awake !! her catch phrase was.... " wheres MY nurse gone ,she didnt say goodbye ,so she hasnt finished me" on being told by another fab nurse that the nurse in question had others to see to and she HAD finished with the lady, the old lady would reply "one job at a time, she didnt say goodbye so she hasnt finished with me ,so where is she" ....multiply this by about 200 in the space of an hour and you get my drift...
the nurse winked at me and mouthed "memory span of a goldfish" smilingly to which i got an absolute FIT of the giggles :rotfl::rotfl: then the nurse did and we just could not stop [lady STILL repeating in the background]....i hurt from the giggles and the nurse gave me a hug when i left and said she'd thought today was going to be a sh*t day but she had had such a good laugh that it had made her day as it did mine ....:D
i can only admire the nurses that cope under such adverse conditions !! patience of saints..:)

i got home about midday, had 2 hours kip then went to get my mum her promised pointsettia [really shouldnt have:o] as i promptly paid through the nose in waitrose for virtually the last one and promptly dropped it as i came in my gate so im left with a posh pot with a stump and 5 seperated branches !!
    DO NOT LAUGH......:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Oh alfie, so glad you made it home for Christmas, with or without a poinsettia. For goodness sake, take it easy now and put your feet up! ;)

It's been a tricky year for many of us; weather wise, economically and at an emotional level too, but for a couple of days we can surely put that to one side.....:D

    ..almost!

Actually, it was just too difficult to tackle both hen houses today, as DW's back went (there must be something in the air!) so tomorrow, rain or shine, we'll be giving the chooks the Christmas clean they should have enjoyed today! :rotfl:

But whatever your plans for tomorrow, a very Happy & Peaceful Christmas from me....

    .... and from him!
