Hiya RAS - How you diddling?

I do buy harassed weed:rotfl:stuff if I see it but must have become trendy as the prices are up. Don't really see women's tweeds often but got an Irish Tweed lined corduroy padded waisrcoat that must have cost a small fortune new. See a few County types in Inverness wearing the Anta look - bright checked tweed seems to be 'de rigour don't ya know?

Was in a shop that had *Harris Tweed* scarves & bags - they had the Harris Tweed orb logo, but I haven't seen owt so badly stitched/made since Primary school - really rubbish & not what they would want associated with I would of thought.

Weather closing in but not freezing as yet. Slussy hail battering off the roof

Some 'organic, free-range ' eggs I bought just over a week ago to supplement ours were borderline on the water test yesterday. I hard boiled the lot. :(

Some of our hens are back into lay now, albeit not at summer time rates. :)

The sun is off the caravan now until January 15th. I will track it on the house- as it will hit there quicker even though it's only a few yards away.

On another note I got a box of cards from Oxfam - 30 cards for £1.49 - they are actually quite nice & are cardboard, not flimsy - recycled & they have a not on the back of each card about being Humankind - It's a really nice sentiment. Can't believe how apt & lovely they are for the price - they were half price, but even at full price they are a steal.
Just getting down to doing the card write thing after all the hilarity of another thread where LIR was telling us all about her OH culinary tastes.

oh, will we celebrate the sun coming back to Choille this year? I want to! I felt such relief on her behalf last year!

re dh...life with him is never boring. Its all a bit tense at The Wreck these days because he's having a diabolical time at work, and there aren't many jobs going elsewhere and its a nasty, nasty situation where he is. Tonight an ex colleague (a partner at another firm) sent a chain of emails he's been haing with a thid firm in which he is prasing dh in the most tremendous way, and as a result they want to meet dh. Its not in UK, but it could be an amazing opportunity, and a life line for him. Its almost impossible to hate my DH, he's quite but funny, and generous and big hearted, and caring and self effacing...even if he does eat yucky stuff. He tries everything (accept tripe and chicken necks ) I feed the animals too....he says he just likes to know. I've tried to explain about diferent taste receptors meaning its ttally different for them than for him but....

LIR - I think he could be on one of those Big brother progs where they eat all the rainforest insects. I can't stand the programmes & feel all left out of popular culture because of it

I hope he gets a better job - work wise things are changing all over. My Oh's is getting so bureaucratic & we can't charge for all the extra hoops we now have to jump through - but hey ho we'll still eat as I keep saying.

I'm sorry to hear its tough for your oh too. :(

we don't watch that stuff either. would you, if you had it going on here? its like seeing th chickens if they get a mouse/sloworm off the cats..

and yet, you know he will not touch, or let me cook while he's in the house, a pasta bake. He gets very upset and starts muttering in Tuscan about it. Or canned soup, or anything like that....but a nibble of layers pellet or a finger in sugr beet pulp....een grass I've caught him trying. In summer one of my clients asked why he had a yellow face all the time, and I had to tell them its becuse he can't walk through the field and not eat dandelions, but he gets the yellow all over him. They thought I was joking:o
