I'm very much in the baby camp when it comes to car boots
It may be boring to some, but to me it means money I don't have to spend on clothes and toys for my three kids. The other interesting psychological change that's happened to me since I've been a car booter is how I assess value. When I lived in London earning a tidy salary, I'd think nothing of spending  £sums on a day's clothes shopping. Now, if something costs over £1 in the shops it makes me stop and think: how can that be worth that sum when, as soon as I buy it, it would be worth 50p at a car boot sale....? I rarely buy new for any of us now. Basic clothes come in at 50p instead of £10-£25, coats £1 instead of £30-50 and shoes 50p - £1 instead of £25 to £40 a pair. It's a no brainer and instead of feeling puffed up about how much I can earn, I am frugal and feel pleased about how much I don't spend and waste mine and the earth's resources.

I agree. They're always revising predictions.
We went to the local Fatstock Show today, which was a sensible thing to do, bearing in mind that it rained most of the day.
Pete had one of his wife's Kune Kunes there with 13 piglets, as something for the kids (& adults!) to look at and go "Ahhhh..!" He also brought some sheep, which were later auctioned-off.
I'm not sure that the Show was as varied and well-supported as it was last year, but maybe the weather put some people off. I hope
that's all it was, because these events are part of the area's heart & soul.0 -

Ah well, did penultimate car boot of year and just listed last 3 items of 2011. And sold a tapestry for a good price but, nuff said......:(. Debating whether to do a final auction this week or start to clear the stock pile we've now accumulated.
No wind here, Alfie, but lots forecast this week. And Davesnave, the Vale show here goes well each year, supported by the local community.
And to show I've got a foot in both car boot camps bought Thomas the Tank set and a stairgate at the car boot this morning, gks here next week!0
