You might get a better price sale or return at a vintage shop with a good artsy student population?0 -

hey, with eagle eyes Alfie and rhiwfield about I should have mentioned here ages ago I'm looking for an old woodburner. The room its going into is 15ft 7 by 13 ft 2 and going to be opened up into its ceiling (Alfie what is now the crumbling kitchen, do you remember it? Its going to be dh's study/music room).
what we are IDEALLY looking for is an art deco or modern woodburner in teal, blue or green, and preferably with a hot plate on top for a coffee pot.
There are some really cool ones that look like the empire state building but also, I like the ones with lots of hatching/mesh style sides. It would be better if it were front loading.
I love this:

all from the same website. Greener would be cool too. (the room is going to have a sigh: blue ceiling and arsenic green walls and white bookshelves........it's going to look better than it sounds!). the problem is none of these vintage sellers really discuss output much.
Any opinions?0 -
Very pretty but I wouldn't think they'll be too efficient. The enamelling is prone to chip off & look tatty too.
They do look nice though but for something that works effectively I think you need new or newish.0 -

yeah, I doubt they'll be efficient. How much less efficient I can't seem to get information on.
I really don't like many of the new ones. Our other option in there is a fireplace, but I think and old stove would be more efficient and easier than that. This room will probably have some underfloor heating, and the woodburner is unlikely to be in anything like daily use that considered.
Oh, and I LIKE chipped tatty stuff:o0
