so i started sleeping on the sofa

I usually end up on the sofa because we have a hard bed that suits DW's back, but not mine. :( I may get through to 3 or 4 am before the discomfort wakes me, but if I've slept from, say,10 or 11pm, that will be enough for me anyway.......which is why I might be here at strange hours!

Then there are the cats .......but one is very good and wakes me if I've nodded-off again, instead of getting out there to do the chickens, like I did today :o......and yesterday. :o

I think it is just out of habbit now:mad: as he can go all day sleeping on the sofa, snoring his head off, and not want to go out:rotfl:

I have got used to it now, but on some occasions if i am stressed

CTC, if you have just the one dog, and a hard floor, do you think he'd go on an incontance pad (or puppy pad) so that you could just roll it up and bish it in the morning and quickly mop?

My dogs just aren't that great. big dog was a kennel dog for a while, and while they understand not going in the house, I'm pretty sure they don't get the reasoning and they make minimal effort to comply so I have to be really fair to them with consistancy about going out time. This sounds awful, but ...it will be easier when big dog is gone, because dog-dog is fine overnight and will then be able to do what she used to....sleep upstairs with me and tell me if she wants out. :(

flip it was warm last night, left the front door open most of the night to get some sort of cool air through the house..

I have left a load of runner beans and peas on the plants, when is the best time to collect the pods and de-seed to keep them to plant on next year? do i wait until the whole plant has practically died back and the pods are/have died back too?

The only seeds i have ever collected in the past in marigold seeds, and that because i can remember my grand father doing it, and then keeping the seeds in his old pipe tobacco tins in his garden shed:rotfl:

I am trying to get organised for next year...

    ...

Yes, if you can, weather permitting.

Harvest supper last night, but most of those harvesting actually out on their combines. Everything's late.

Hedgehogs. DD2 found one in the drain at her new city pad (DD2 is the sort of person who looks in drains ;)) Put it on a hot water bottle where it slept, then ate ravenously later before a trip to the vet. Far too small to do winter, so it's going to a Mrs Tiggywinkles type place. :)

Finding a drive belt for the ride-on is proving hard, but I've sent the old one off for ID. Meanwhile, the brushcutter is coping, but the grass growth is prodigious. My back's suffering from hula-hoop syndrome. :(

Speaking of seed collection, I've done the very early toms, but I've a couple of other things to do yet, so I'll let you all know when they're done, so I can send them out together, if any of you want them. :)

I won't be growing the Tatsoi from Real Seeds again though; it was almost too quick, and the hens weren't that keen. However, I took about
10 000 seeds from one plant (!) all destined for a special mix I'm concocting for someone who's given my BiL a really hard time .....they won't know though!:rotfl:

CTC - We had an acient dog & we used to leave the door open, so he could toddle out - sometimes he made it other times not quite, but he was lovely & used to get distressed, so we always made a fuss of him. We had hard floors & interchangable kids duvets that he would sleep on & I'd swop them about.

Stomache bug has reappeared so I've given up thinking I'll get to Skye on Monday - GGGrrrrrr. Haven't been off this year apart from an overnight in a cheap rate travel lodge in Inverness. So I'm fed up.
Porpoises chasing shoals of fish up the Loch this morning.
Just idling feeling as weak as a kitten.

I have seen that in the lochs, though I think it was dogfish, or similar, that were doing the chasing when I was there.

Sorry to hear your bug is still around. DW's down with a throat infection, so we are just plodding along slowly here. Moved Peccadilly Circus into the other hen run this morning to begin integrating the 'Lorps with the other hens. :)

Weather here some of the best we've had. It's very quiet, which means many have headed for the beaches.
