We do seem to be living in interesting times atm. I echo Davesnaves's views of investing in necessities, whether that be house, garden, allotment, workshop, polytunnel or in upskilling (DW has just started a dressmaking course, guess what I'll be mostly wearing next year
)
Congrats girls, floors, business and planning permission :T:T
Freezing runner beans today, and stored last of apples, while DW took advantage of weather to do some essential painting. 25C today!!! But leaves are falling.
DD2 and GS1 & 2 staying nx week, some quality time ahead0 -
Wise words, you all x0

LIR - excellent news - well done.
240C - who put the heaters on? Weirdly warm, yet Northern lights on display - would be better if the campsite, who are hosting the catering caravans for the filming wouldn't floodlight the blubbering place - grrrrrrrrrrr. Not used to light pollution.
saw a green & red comet/UFO/flare coming home - very fast & bright .........honest.
Went to a green energy talk in Ullapool on the way home & was baffled with all the number crunching. This is the new pyramid selling scam - spend £27,000 on a system that you have to put your deeds on the line to afford & we'll give you FIT - well excuse me a minute. Course I opened my mouth & said that it's about as green as blue. There is so much hype & nonsense at the moment.
Spain has had a big crash with government setting up green schemes & it's all gone pears up - I'm a dreadful cynic.0 -
Well, I just put a hedgehog out of the house. What with the dead one I had to get rid of the otherweek (same room) I'm wondering what's going on. I've given him some cat food and had a stern word about all the slugs that have been appearing here.....0

Maybe there's four?
I sent the sealed bidding stuff out for our old garden today.
Don't hold your breath though; our guide price didn't err on the cheap side, like the EA ones do for auctions....Long road ahead, I suspect.0 -
Flip, i just cant get a good night sleep lately...I know i am sleeping on the sofa because of the dog..
There is a lovely mist this morning... very calming..
We got our first lot of vintage shows in 2 weeks, and i havent started getting anything ready yet... decided to sell things cheaper a sort of 'grab-it' sort of price, i have soooooooooo much there, but its all run of the mill sort of vintage..so the washing machine will be constantly on over the next week or so in work...
Think i am going to tell them in work today about the down sizing... but not going to mention the lay offs yetWork to live= not live to work0 -
Money flying out of the door atm, both cars needed 2 new tyres, both needed road tax and one had a service and MOT. Then UNI fees for DS2, and a hi-spec new computer for him (second year PGCE in IT), and a load of logs.
Bit of a run on bank of mum and dad0 -
