poor you.
I just discovered berocca with guarana....trying to get stuff done here, and its great.....but I didn't go to sleep until about four, so basically had an hour and a half ish of sleep. Got up, fed, let people out at went back to bed till half nine.Delicious.
I'm trying to work up enthusiam to go and clear out gutters that were done in spring but are totally full again, of moss, and also of plants growing in them . This could get boring if it needs doing twice a year, not annually, and really, looks like I should have done this in summer too....so three times a year. crazy.0 -
You guys are hilarious. Hedgehogs?!? Twigs?!?!
It's a gorgeous day here. Been on a walk through the fields with the kids from the primary school. Really glad we made the move, even if I'm scared half to death about finding somewhere permanent. There is such a sense of community.
BTW dictionary.com's word of the day is
Word of the Day for Thursday, September 29, 2011
woolgathering \WOOL-gath-(uh)-ring\, noun:
Indulgence in idle daydreaming.
Apt for this thread, I think.0 -

congrats....
Looks as though this warm weather hasnt come alone, with all the good news we are having lately..

I noticed he hadn't been here much. Perhaps 'her indoors' is curbing his 'woolgathering' already?
Believe me, I know how it is!
"What are you doing now on that computer?"
"Nothing love, just checking the Dark Side (business email - those who know mine will know why!:rotfl:)....might be a deal from Ascott or something...."
Anyway, congratulations & well done, wherever you are, Lotus!0 -
Very entertained this morning by 2 visits from a squirrel carrying conkers (I think) one of which was buried in the lawn, other just under the crab apple tree. Now I truly know why we have so many horse chestnut seedlings growing in this garden! :rotfl:
Gawd it's hot today! Trying to weed along my "lavender hedge" (all of 4" high!) but had to come in out of the sun. OH was emptying spud bags that we'd planted daffs in (no other free space at the time we were planting around 2 years ago), but then we had a visitation from DD2 and the Twins... So when it's cooler in the evening I'll finish off the weeding and we'll replant the daffs. They're the old style pheasants eye type, and are very late flowering. OH is off for a haircut at present, when he gets back there's another spud bag of bulbs to tackle.
I'm still hacking away at the ornamental quince, manage about a couple of cuts a day with the long loppers now that I'm into the thicker stems. Kill or cure! Got quite a lot of smallish quinces off it, so we might try and do a tiny amount of jelly at the weekend just as an experiment.
Congrats to lotuseater - hope the sun shines on you! (We had pouring rain and a force 8 gale on our wedding day)
Seen quite a lot of the long tailed tits recently, I love the little peep-peep call they make, and the sort of bubbling song. But not so many birds feeding at the mo - guess there's plenty of wild stuff for them to eat at this time of year. Magpies still come and pinch what they can of course!
Must get to sorting out papers for my accountant now as we're meeting him tomorrow. OH's birthday, but accountant close to his Mum so we'll have a visit with her. Accountant a lovely man, who was incredibly kind to my parents in the last years of their lives, so it's always a pleasure to see him. While we could send all the papers by post I want to be sure he's got all the detail he needs... Just hope I've managed to bring everything here from old home!
Sorry, wittering again now, and DD will be back with the twins soon so better get on with it!0 -

We had drizzle. It 'twas nine in the morning, I was in an ''old'' evening dress and we had to park in Waitrose carpark...I didn't have a walking stick because I leant on dh instead, and we ran/tottered through the drizzle, and through Waitrose, making people stare at the weirdness of it, to the registry office.
But looks like lotus will get the sun. I wonder if he makes his OH carry a bunch of veg for a bouquet?0 -

i had the farrier yesterday and got 6 out of 8 done. im slowly getting there with RUBY...doing the bucket feed and walk away bit at the mo..she is following me and much calmer. she stood next to barney while he was having his hoofs trimmed and watched very carefully. they are quite inseperable now
but barney tries to look like she's just a nuisance :rotfl:.....
ive "done" my back today...i know the warning signs now [syrinx] but pushed it too far so now im sufferingim hoping it will ease off as have some trailer jobs at the weekend to do..:o
son didnt buy either of two cars he went to see ! im a bit like Miss Marple re paperwork and if something doesnt ring true im in for the kill...:D:D iv left many a salesman heading to hide in a cupboard :rotfl: but i look on it as, if they are honest i will listen but as they say "you cant bull***t a bull*****er".... tho i dont tend to Bs**t unless i have to...thats all come out wrong but you get the gist...i hope.
one car had an inch of water in the bottom of the rear light fitting ?? i half expected a goldfish to swim by !!:rotfl: and the salesman said ?? " oh thats no prob ,empty it and "whack" a bit of sealant in there !!! " my face must have been a picture cos my son just looked at me and we walked away...
p.s. he's not a wuss buying but he knows i see what he doesnt ....:rotfl: tho he does warn me not to embarass him:D0 -

:rotfl::rotfl:Flip, i just cant get a good night sleep lately...I know i am sleeping on the sofa because of the dog.. ?????
The dog is getting on a bit, and wants to go out to have a wee in the middle of the night well actually about 3 or 4 times in the night,
I was fed up of getting out of bed to find he had started piddling by the door, so i started sleeping on the sofa, so i could get to the door quicker to leave him out... this all started about 12 - 18 months ago, and i have rarely slept in my own bed since then..every time i have moaned that i am tired and just cant cope anymore, someone will sleep down stairs, but this is extremely rare.... its normally when i such a meltdown i think they feel guilty and do it just to shut me up, rather than actually see how its effecting me...
When i told the doctor a few weeks back, he told me to get rid of the dog:eek:, but he did think it was a puppy, not an ageing dog, which i told him... this is what you got to do with animals.. take the rough ( and the expense..lol..) with the smooth..
Once our dog goes ( totally not looking forward to that day) there will be no more dogs....Work to live= not live to work0
