but one thing i am not looking forward too, is sorting out aa the stuff i have 'squirrelled' away to sell on ebay etc...:eek::rotfl: that will take hte 6 months alone to sort out....lol..Work to live= not live to work0 -
Good luck ctc.
re London expenses, not sure what to do about dh's place. (for starters it was burgled yesterday). Nothing of value is there, but we are paying rent on a place he won't be using but not sure for how long. Its a good spot for him, so I think we should keep it if it looks like he'll be back at christmas. But that rent could be paying for some of the stuff dh would be doing were he here every weekend.
A friend has offered to come and chop up the rest of the trees we got down last week, so that's a small job. I have a feeling he might want to do something more exciting with the chainsaw too, so he might get the other length of hedge...think its just four small trees, done too. There are the bigger trees down by the pond to get down, but they'll keep.
the feral cat that came in last winter is sitting by the front door this morning
Oh and......the planning for the stables, not the house yet, has been APPROVED! Shame we can't afford to do anything about it, eh? rofl!0 -
Beautiful flowers Dave.
CTC - sounds like you've taken the right descision. These things are never black & white, would be easier if they were. You just have to go with the gut instinct sometimes & weigh up the pros & cons.
Well sold the last two Scot's Grey but the woman who's an artist hasn't collected them. She's been, paid & keeps in touch..............almost like she's fostered them from a distance! Hope the Pine Marten doesn't scoff them!
We've had rain, torentail rain & heavy showers for ages. There's filming going on up the road, but it's delayed because of the ......rain! It's mud everywhere time.
Got the kitchen floor down! Yipee. Just unfinished - no doors, plaster board, plumbing, but I do have a floor. Makes walking across joists less,'break your ankle'. Had an old door we scrounged from somewhere - so that's on the front, but the back's all open. Could do with a cash injection so we can buy some roofing & cladding & more windas, but that'll take time.
OH just away to get an unpaid bill out of a multi millionairre - I kid you not. These massive land owners are the worst payers!
I must try & tidy a little as we are off to Skye next week for the Crofters annual gathering which sounds brilliant. I daren't let anyone in the caravan the way it is or else I'll be shut down by environmental health!0 -

I'm still reading your lives guys! It's amazing how many times I've been called away from the computer mid-post by a baby with a banged head or something. One is now trying to temppt me away by waving the Times magazine supplement at me which, obviously, I haven't yet had time to read :rotfl:0

my son has just informed me he is buying a sports car ! mazda rx8 ?? of course i suggested he puts ME on his insurance ....to lower his premium obviously
i told him the other day to do what he wants now before he gets bogged down with a morgage etc.... thus the car i guess !!:)
CTC....sounds like its a win win if you downsize so good luck.
im off to my mates for a "girlie" gossip in a mo so hope you all have a good evening..:)0 -
Opened the curtains this morning to find them plastered with condensation...on the outside and nothing on the inside. Still trying to work out how it happened.
Old engraving of burial of shipwreck victims collected yesterday by the museum curator. Dripfeeding low value stuff onto Ebay, saving some higher value stuff thats reserved for a collector for time being, and the car boot low value items squirrelled away to be brought out again in spring. Sold a fair bit over last few months, but expenses have taken a chunk of the profit.
Garden production right down, but have picked ripe strawbs this week, whats happening with the weather??0 -

Happens here a lot on our DG units. Happened yesterday when it was cold first thing, but not today. I don't speculate upon it, but DW does, ad infinitum! :rotfl:
Did the uni run for DD2 yesterday. Even without ferrets and their accoutrements, she still managed to almost fill the van!
Odd weather is cetainly evident. I was perspiring hard in sunny Bournemouth in temps of around 24C, putting up shelves, and half an hour later, as we drove into fog on the outskirts of Poole, I had to put the heater on!
We are in fog again as I type.....but they are promising wall to wall sunshine and 20C+ for the next 5 days here.0 -

they are often the hotest days, the ones that start with moisture that gets burnt off. I suppose it part steams us before baking us.
Its very pretty here, that weather of a true Indian summer. Heavy dew, ans a sort of baked alaska thing going on: though the breeze is warm, and the sun is hot there is a core of just melting chill underlying the warmth....you know you are on borrowed time.
I'd hoped to get some docks dug up in the field this week, but the ground is going to be too firm I think. We'll see I guess! It would be a good painting week I'f I'd made a decision about the wretched yard paint. Why are exterior paint colours so limited?:o0 -
yesturday afternoon was really warm in work.. ( was it just me at my age...lol...)
