rhiwfield... i feel the macrame one could be 1960's/70's as there was a huge surge in this craft then.but i dont think it is macrame is it something called tatting?

the doillies ...i would have a stab at around the 1900's..i would have a stab at saying between 1920 and 1920's dont know how much you will get for them , as they have got age spots, will be have an effect on the price...

on your listing title i would say late victorian early edwardian with a question mark ofter this, ( to show you are not to sure on the exact date)

I dont know how much you paid for them....but i do hope you make some money off them....

Cheers CTC, DW has her eye on the doilies if Alfie's friend isnt interested, so they might not get sold after all. She loves the children painted on the centres! There are some age spots, they dont detract to us but I accept others might be less keen. Thing is I've spent hours searching and cant find any comparable items.

Considering how tight money is, the auction rooms were packed and most sale prices were far higher than estimate, then you have to add on 20% buyers premium

Tatting, I think you're right! Well done you :T:T.

Well, the car lives....just. It almost passed its MoT, except for the ABS warning light, which has gone on & off intermittently since they did the brakes last year (when it also ran away! :() It came on today all right! The ABS is fine - it has to be the way they drive around here! - but the faulty sensor is over £200. Keeps someone in work, I suppose.

Ah well, I used their courtesy car to deliver 10kg plums @£2.50 a kg....and got an order for some more. :) With the amount we have, that will hardly notice. We took over 20kg of damsons just from one small tree today, and DD2 hasn't used a ladder yet!

Meanwhile, I've been storing the fallen apples ready to......make chutney, I suppose. I shall be looking for a recipe for courgette, apple and plum chutney, I think. :o

Stitchy, nice to see you here again.:) Rayburn, eh? I must admit that although it's inefficient, and oil, I'm looking forward to the Aga going on again in November. Makes a kitchen.

This model has a back boiler and we get plenty of free wood so I'm hoping it will reduce our electricity bills a bit. We're all electric in the village and DH doesn't want to go down the oil or LPG route. Was it a wise investment? Time will tell..... (let's not mention the cost of totally rebuilding the kitchen to fit it in ;))

Shame I'm not closer to you; I could do with some plums and damsons as DH has nabbed all our foraged damsons and Mirabelles for wine. :(

Must've been the right weather for pollination and no late frosts I suppose. Apples are pretty good too. :D

A couple in the village have sold £200 worth of plums, with the proceeds going to the Air Ambulance.:)

Being in the village makes selling easier, of course, and cars aren't (hopefully!) going at the pace they are when they pass us. Still, I learned something interesting this week, which is that we almost certainly own one wall on the entrance splay into the private lane here. That would make a difference to our advertising if/when we re-open in the future, or just for one-offs, like the plums. ;)

Am I the only person in the UK to have had a bad plum crop

Ah well, DS1's car was sold yesterday so lots of wonderful space on the drive :D

And just stacked the last of the winter wood, weather's giving me that hunkering down feeling.

Listed a woven silk and an old watercolour on Ebay, quite a few watchers on both already. Keep on thinking I can see painter's initials on watercolour, then I tell myself its imagination. But its pretty good quality anyhow so hopefully it'll get bid up.

Oh ho, time to bubblewrap another window.
