well my sheep are sheared...i will put a pic up if they came out...not sure as i was the "anchor" to keep em down while man sheared...they were sure full of beans for FAT sheep :rotfl:but wormed them and anti fly striked em whilst they were still a bit stunned on release !! luckily just sheared in time as the little blighter maggots were around the rear end but hadnt "moved in ":o...
had lovely roast dinner at my parents so feel quite lazy today...hip seems to be bearing up too...:T

im having a clean up day tomorow...my mum has offered to clean my downstairs windows [79yrs old !] and she insists....im just glad i have no neighbours as id be SOOO embarassed if people thought id put my elderly mum to work up a step ladder:o
have to sort out my chook accomodations too as impending arrivals ....

does anyone know wether , if you put hatching eggs in water, if they float or sink...which is duff and which is fertile?? the more i try to remember the more im not sure:(

Fresh eggs sink, but I don't drop eggs in water for hatching....I just store them after colleting daily then put a clutch under all at the same time and expect a percentage won;t hatch...fertile or not. You can candle of course, through the hatch period and dispose whats not ''occupied''....but honestly, I'm rubbish at it. and am happy to leave her sitting on some cold eggs.

so....does that mean if my pekins ,who have been sat for what seems for EVER, eggs now all float,that they have bubbies in them??? i tested them today.

I think it would mean they are off and with nothing in them. eggs with babies in them are heavy too...though I've never tried the float test on them, they feel heavy to the hand...even if the chick doesn't hatch.

LIR - Croft goes down to the Lochside - so private swimming & fishing possible. We have the gorge as well - so skinny dipping showers if midgy free!

Should I attempt a website does anyone know? Sorry for spearing but I have to do something.

I think you should test the water with advertising at the very least. A website won't cost you the earth (I don't know how to do it but have bought domain names for here). Do you need any permissions for it? (Local authority or anything, don't know how it works:o)

If you have wild swimming maybe advertise through the wild swimming association website? On the strength of the photos and the chumminess of the dreamers thread I'd be happy to recommend the spot to people...now just got to find people who might ask me about camping!

Cheers LIR - I'll need to get the bottom bracken & bramble free ( my mission in life!) & somehow do a solar shower & a dry toilet & then stick a sign up/and/or website thing.
God I'm sick of being skint. Wish I could just lift the phone & order sheds & men to do stuff.
