wow, sound like brilliant back garden birds....364 eggs a year!

FWIW, I met someone who reckons he can sell his rare breeds... for £100-200 a bird. I almost fainted. I've bought some of the ones he talks about in my normal price range of £15 - £40 for adult show birds. I think sometimes people lose the plot choosing birds :o I think the stock I've bought in at £40 are hugely dear, but I'll pay in for good healthy and correct stock to breed from every now and then.
last year at salisbury bird sale i saw a pair of polish ? tortoishell colored go for £185. trios of pekins av £75/85...

Further to earlier discussion re rain....we've heard thunder coming up from the south/west but came to absolutely nothing. It got cool for quarter of an hour then ...rolled on northish.
We used to get that when we lived near your place. Dark, threatening clouds and distant rolls of thunder.....which would all go up the Severn Estuary into Gloucestershire!

    evening all.
i went to a 60's party last night.....

I read that as 'an over 60s party' first, and thought "No, surely not..." then got the meaning. Believe me, the only time I'm over 60 is in B&Q on a Wednesday! :p

    The 60s parties I remember.....err hang on, I don't remember any...:rotfl:

We went to the pub's St George's Day Bangers & Mash tonight. It beat cooking and was exceptionally good. Pretty cheap too, because we forgot to pay! :o There's a message on the answering machine which is probably from there, but I dare not play it at this time of night, as our machine is very loud and makes everyone sound like a Dalek .

Attention to detail, lir? More like OCD, but it would be DW doing the brain work on chicken breeding, anyway. She has a book.... ;) When it comes to chickens, I'm content to buy them in, but I have plenty of patience with seeds. Just as well, because taking stock today, the number of plants we lost in the winter was huge. Those raised from seed or given by friends no longer with us will be particularly missed. :o However, everywhere I go, people are saying much the same, so that has to be good for business. Double edged sword.

I hope we don't miss all the big summer storms. There was only one i can remember last year. I LOVE summer storms. I always have but it ne of those things you're meant to grow out of, like loving snow, but thunder, lightening and heavy rain after a hot spell is my very favourite weather of all.

But I think my OH, if she knew, would be very happy that I don't :)
