a proper link to the Iron works
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-13001885 public meeting next week, looks as though the developers butts are a bit twitchy at the mo, re- the full planning...we need to get letters into the council now re- the Iron works etc... Cadw were extremely nice;)
had a reply from you know who...:o they think we are putting more fences up:rotfl: the only fences we have put up are on our boundary wall, because there old ones were being held up by brambles....
no wonder my blood pressure is getting higher.. went again to check it, and it is still a bit high....
Hoping to get to the wonderwool show on Sunday..... If its a nice day we might go on the bike..... now that will be a sight for all the ladies....2 mean looking bikers pulling up on a noisey bike... and walking round in biker gear and their helmets:rotfl::D
my lettuce, brussel sprouts and beetroot are growing well, my parsnips are still 'sleeping' so hopefully htey will wake up and start growing soon....Work to live= not live to work0 -
LIR as well as getting some of your hard earned money back it might also get them to change their procedures to test water as a matter of course rather than waiting for ages.
TBH you would probably help to save water by just putting together the letter and highlighting how much water could have been saved IF they had only tested when the problem first arose. If their procedures made a test compulsory rather than at the discretion of the person attending it would have saved you both time and money and a huge wastage of water.
Glad for you that it's sorted out at last.0 -

Oh me too. I didn;t realise how worried I was about it till that worry was lifted! Even if it takes a while to sort out...its not our worry any more
Well, I've been going through this weeks post and three wedding invites this summer. I'm trying to think what we could say other than ''we just want to be in our garden/patching up our house, but thanks anyway, here's that pot from you wedding list'':o:o
Actually I quite like weddings...the ceremonies, and a good shin dig, its just that so few are good. One is on a weekday and near London, I was wondering if I could find a tactful way to accept the service but not the reception....so I could do it on a day return ticket and be back to put the chooks away:o:o:rotfl:0 -
Weddings bore me rigid! I think you can find a few good excuses to get out of them if you really try.
Looks like it is to be sunny and warm for the next few days so I am going to try and spend some time in the garden, I have a friend coming for lunch and then an early evening class but I should be able to get out for a wee bit at least. Not sure which bit to focus on though?Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -
. Not sure which bit to focus on though?
I'm at the wandering stage atm - water greenhouse, clear a bit of ground in polytunnel, plant a dahlia that I'd forgotten I'd bought, back to greenhouse to do some seed sowing, further clearing in polytunnel, etc etc.
Mind keeps wandering looking at all the wildlife and wondering what kind of spider is it or is that a shield bug? Saw my first butterfly today, and bumble bees were out in force too feeding on the dandelions in the paddock. It's so good to finally have everything around again, buzzing and fluttering away.0 -

my sitting goose was chased off her eggs by a pair of canada geese:mad: but now THEY have disapeared ?? one of the geese [of 19] has started sitting again so im going to don waders and get to the island in the lake, remove old eggs and put my 6 E-bay eggs under her too......fingers crossed..:D

my garden is starting to look colorfull now. i love this time of year.
i MUST make the effort to sort out my big shed this weekend... i keep putting it off....:o if you could see it youde be daunted from afar !!:)0 -
alfie, I've had to beg mine in this week. Today they looked at me blinking, and only v. grudgingly strolled over. Its that time of year when grass is at its sweetest and nothing we give can compete. Its early this year. I'm getting dh to do the geldig here: not ours, but good practise for DH who's never done it. Mean while I have to think about girls teets, with mud caked between them and grease, and a good clean up of the girls who've had un...a lick and a promise all winter and now need a sponge and some scrubbing.0

Evening all, guess who spent an hour in the garden tonight straight from work?
Yay! It was MEEEEE!
And I plan on doing the same tomorrow afternoon when I get home from work. If I do it like tonight - walked in the front door, straight through the house into the garage and out the back - I know I'll spend some time out there.
This evening I bagged up some rubble from the old bricks of the old wall, cut up and green binned some of the chopped grape vine and tree things that my neighbour has cut down (she left long vines and branches in a pile on the patio). I have to cut them up so they'll fit in the bin and I want to get as much as possible in the bin before collection on Monday. I'm hoping to fill 2 wheelie bins - I'm about 15% there atm! Then I cut some of the old vine that's entangled in a tree that used to be a bush and pulled a load of it out of the tree/bush. And finally pulled some of the thorny stuff (dead black berry lines I think) out from the undergrowth and cut that up. Oh and I must have cut about a dozen tiny silverbirch trees at their bases. I have these Silverbirch trees sprouting up all over the place - they really annoy me because they seem to root really deep so even by the time they are 6 inches tall they're hard to pull up (hence the cutting - I'll have to dig them up another time). Tomorrow I am to do as much if not more as I'll be home earlier from work - I can leave at 3pm tomorrow as I put some long hours in earlier this week (a couple of 7pm finishes).
CTC, thanks for that link, it's interesting isn't it (old stuff). I saw this link on the same page and watched it:

Unluckiest honeymooners? I tend to think they are more like the luckiest!
Good luck with your battle CTC.
Hope everyone else is good, water problems sorted, asparagus eaten, seeds planted, horses..... well we won't go there!
Will let you all know tomorrow what I achieve. I don't care that you wouldn't notice that anything had been done - I know how much I did!
