well sadly i had to have my old cat put to sleep today so im a miserable grump!! .

Oh Alfie, so sorry to hear that. Hugs from Liverpool coming your way!

Your sad news hit home to me more than usual as I have my Favourite Visitor (dear Brodie cat) here for a week while his Mum and Dad and human baby siblings head off to a concert in the Netherlands. We don't know how old Brodie-kins is as he was a rescue cat, but he's definitely getting on a bit. He's cuddled up to my legs (am in bed after gardening ;) ) as I type, and is purring.

I don't know what kind of beliefs you hold, not even sure what ones I hold, but I do like The Rainbow Bridge story, makes me cry every time, but I do think that tears can be healing.

    Hugs again, Mags

Alfie, I am so sorry to hear about your cat. It sounds as if he had a long and lovely life with you and it would have been a great comfort to him that you were with him when it was his time, far better to go to sleep than to suffer.

Oh Alfie really sorry about your loss. It is always hard. You did the right thing. He won't suffer. Great that you found him & managed to get him to a vet.

I'm slouching watching Real Beverly Hills Wives - time I went to bed as it is such drivel & fake - pretty removed from caravan living.

I don't think this is right, but is a common misconception. I bought from Australia, and it was up to sender to contact their postal service. So far as I am aware (unless rules have changed in the last 4/5 years) it is up to the sender to contact postal service here in UK too. The contract is with the payer, in this case the sender.
i was going by when ive bought and the seller has stated that they are not responsible for non delivery but will assist by forwarding any relevant details to assist the buyer....maybe i took that as being across the board as opposed to maybe the individuals terms...??
it is probably one of those "agree terms before bidding" things, sorry if i misled ,choille....
i tried to sleep but couldnt so im now gonna try again.....

i took old cat on 4 years ago when his "owner" took him to vet to be put down cos they were moving house[he was 13/14yrs old]....they could have taken him but didnt want the hassle !! so vet said to them could he rehome him, they just said yes ! so vet rang me and iv had him since so in a way he had an extension of life anyway, will miss the greedy b****r tho !!

sorry Alfie....your cat had a great innings.... and might have well suffered with the growth the vet found....This is the hardest part of having pets....huge hugs from me...

Well today i heard on the grapevine of a 6 acre farm going to auction next week for the guide price of 89k...so we went to go and have a look:rotfl:

on the details they said it was in a remote location... lol they were not wrong.... would be an ideal location if you were on the run or wanted to start a cannibis farm...lol..... you would need to take a packed lunch with you just to have a break half way down the track to the main road... the nearest house on the rack is derelict..

I laughed and told hubby if we lived there there is no way i would be travelling back and for on the track to the farm, so would be perminantly there, plus between October and march you could be stuck there due to the weather/ice..

so if you are a hermit, recluse, drug grower, on the run, this place could be for you
flip i hate hubby's laptop, cant copy and paste link, will go on my computer and put a link in

here we go a link to the farm,

Edit..... i have removed the link to the farm......

It sounds brilliant, but I bet the 6 acres aren't up to much :) And why has the staircase been removed :D

And you'd need to run a 4x4 which isn't cheap, I like the idea of it though. £89000 for 6 acres and a farm with (derelict, they sure emphasised that :) ) outbuildings.

Sad for you regarding your cat alfie, but as other have said, that age is a very good innings. It can be kinder for something sudden to happen than have things lingering while one agonises over what to do for the best. We have an ancient moggy here - must be about 16- but she behaves more like a kitten and still tears around at dusk like a thing possessed. Her daughter is a fat thing with arthritis; the result of a chance meeting with an odd-looking stray tom, but she is othewise well and has outlived most of her brothers & sisters.

Blimey, that place is a bit out of the way, CTC! Guaranteed no neighbour problems or supermarkets though, and quite sheltered, but possibly a bit dull in winter with that aspect. One thing about this place is the sunshine, both early & late, which we'd never experienced in our other houses.

I was a Very Naughty Boy yesterday and spent some serious money on a chainsaw and all the safety gear to go with it; in fact the gear cost as much as the saw. There was no way we could go on managing without one, and the pile of wood we have stacked for cutting will be worth half the price of the saw by the time it's in log form. While we're too late to tackle fresh stuff now, I've been eyeing-up the willows and thinking, "I don't want those to get too much larger," so there's a project for next winter already in place. I know willow isn't great for logs, but it's free.

The ebay package that went missing was only a couple of pounds - so no great expense - will just wait til Monday then refund if still 'not arrived'. You do wonder! But I don't want any neg feedback, not worth it.

CTC - The farm is very cheap. You would struggle to get a house site for that amount here never mind all the land & out buildings.

Good for you Dave with the chain saw. Good investment. I have one that doesn't run & have spent money on getting it fixed a few times, but still can't get it started so time to get rid of that as it is so frustrating.
Can't stop coughing this morning - forgotten what it was like when I smoked - coffee, three fags & a good cough. I've saved over £3,000 since I stopped - wish I had it - the money..........

lotus-eater we have 2 range rovers:rotfl: we are practicing looking the part...:D

Davesnave, it is totally off the beaten track, even the track has been beaten a bit.. the track is on an edge so to speak, and there is a bit of a big dip to one side...

some silly monkey paid £280k for this place in 2005:eek: now they def need their bumps read......lol.... unless htey were thinking of doing some sort of cultivating:rotfl:

there are someone elses sheep on the land, looks as though they are wonder all over the mountain side...

Yes Dave it would look very bleak in the winter.... but the view from the house across the valley is stunning...

the drive way part of hte house is very small could just about put 2 cars there, and then struggle to turn them around.. before the land jumps down to the next level...

The worrying hting is, when we pulled up to the place, there was a guy walking away on part of the land, so i think it must be a place were walkers walk, across the woods etc...

I wonder just out of curio how much it goes for...? I wonder if they would except a phone bit of £20k:rotfl:

I could rent it out to city dwellers as a weekend retreat.... for those who need to have peace and quiet:D:p of coarse we would have to include the free use of one of our range rovers for the duration, or just take and plonk them there for the weekend...

Davesnave... money well invested... a chainsaw is a big boys toy......which is a must have.. in the long run you will save money on fuel by cutting up your own wood...
