I have yet another question: wood ash...a lot of it, about three wheelbarrows full....too much for the compost in one go or ok?0 -

Lotus-eater wrote: »Probably too much. Depends how big your compost heap is. Spread it thinly on the heap every now and again, or store it somewhere dry and add it to plants once they are growing, or around fruit bushes is good.
OK. Thanks. I'll put a layer on compost (pallet sized squared) tomorrow.
Trying to prioritise jobs for the weekends now....its not easy!0 -

its P'ing with rain here! well drizzle which is worse cos it looks ok till you step outside...:(
MABEL [pig] doesnt like the rain but likes her breakfast so suffers in silence whilst stuffing herself....she had her pig nuts, bananas, passion fruit, 2 doughnuts and garlic bread this morning ! i put a bale of woodchip in her house for her to disperse...she loves sorting out her house and will spend ages shoveling it about so its just right for her to settle in !:)
im supposed to be "repairing" the railway today but rains stopped play!
im off to have a look at van/lorries in a mo ,have to check interior size....
ive been promised a good yorkshire breakfast on arrival there [wagon man] so thats a good incentive for me !!!!:T
ive got to fetch the doves/pidgeons this weekend and also if weather abates have a garage sale sunday. the car boot sales are due to start soon and people are going stir crazy without them so hope to corner the market... i put up signs from the town and as there is a big saturday market here they get seen by many so thats my weekend sorted....so far !!
next weekend i plan to do NOTHING !! [and mabel will learn to fly!]
im off to my mates tonite , its our ritual to sift through the spring wardrobe turnout of a generous [wealthy] friend... 4 binbags full of armanii and beyond my budget clothes !!! we have big try ons and then bemoan the fact "where are we going to wear it all " !!?? its a hard life......:rotfl:0 -
Wood ash is very powerful. You won't want to put three barrow loads of it on your compost heap in one go.“The ideas of debtor and creditor as to what constitutes a good time never coincide.”
