Oh rummer you put us to shame. My dad called in and that wasted my afternoon, though nice to see him. I have NOTHING edible sown yet.
I did do some sweet peas last week and noticed one has popped up today. I also got a few barrows of last summer poop into the new bed. Its going to be a long job.

I have got a bit carried away and my OH will hit the roof when he sees how full our window ledges are! Just going to go and plant some sweet peas now!Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0

In the absence of a chain saw, (I was promised one to borrow at the w/e) I have been doing all the jobs on the exhumed stumps that would be done by hand anyway, like cutting off the roots. I also got a bit carried away, so produced some firewood using the hand saw, but there are some stumps that are just too large.
Meanwhile, DW was erecting an old steel market stall we once used as an outdoor potting-up tent. She wants it this time as a sales tent. She fitted a new stripey cover to it, so it's reasonably smart, but I'm worried that it will fly when we get a gale! It was always in a sheltered location before and I could put concrete blocks inside to weigh down the frame, but if we do that here it will detract from the appearance. I can see myself painting breeze blocks next! :rotfl:
Still time to find a rare newt or something CTC!Well done for getting on the case with the council regarding the land you're interested in.

The sun shone today :j and this spurred me to finally tackle the greehouse clearing that I need to do before I can plant anything. OH helped me move the 8ft staging out so that I could clear the accumulated debris from several years of just planting and running.
I now need to disinfect everything before cleaning all the glass, reinstating the staging and starting things into growth.
Any ideas for the best way to disinfect everything? I want to kill off all the nasties, have hopefully relocated as many of the spiders as humanly possible, so just a concrete floor, glass and aluminium. Would a wash with hot soapy water to get all the gunk off, followed by was down with disinfectand do the trick?0 -

i always buy the tesco floorwipes £1 a pkt. they are MUCH stronger than others and bigger and are great for wiping allsorts. antibacterial too.
my guilt is rising and i have told myself friday is sort my seeds before its too late day !!0
