Davesnave...I'm sorry about the van.
I feel your pain!
Choille, enjoy the sun...and send it back down here when you've finished with it, would you? Its grim here. Old cuckoo hen shuffled to the door this morning looked out, said ''pupupupup parrrrp...humph'' and went back in. Her leg feathering has never been so impressive...thanks to all our yard she never has to drag it through mud, so I guess she's getting precious in her old age.0 -
A beautiful day today so I am going to head out and get bits of the garden tidy, after the weather we seem to have lots of rubbish about and loads of things in places they shouldn't be. Then I am going to relax in the warmth and get some more seeds planted, I am very excited!Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0

How I wish I had a garden and time to spend in it!

Damp and miserable here again today - with this much rain maybe I should give up on veg and plant a rice paddy instead.
Also got the verdict on the cars MOT which sounds horribly expensive
Will get into the greenhouse and start planting as I need something to lift my spirits at the moment.0 -

Oh, it's nothing out of the ordinary, just that the tax, insurance and servicing all comes together on that one. Hopefully, we get another bother-free year now.......
....but £1.35/l for diesel! It's no wonder I coast down all the hills, and there are lots of those here! Now that it's not just Mr T who delivers here, I'm going to try a supermarket shop on-line next month.
Hearing how the weather varies from ours in other places is so interesting. Driving up the Mole valley to Mole Valley Farmers today, I noticed how empty our river is for the time of year. It isn't good. Apparently, the reservoirs are also well down too.
Anyway, the trip to MVF was a waste of time. There wasn't a hand axe in the place, and nor was there one in Wickes. I gave up at that point and just got on with the trolley dash.
ETA: Soupdragon, which bit of Cornwall are you in? It was peeing down in Barnstaple today, but here, in the middle of Devon, it was just a bit damp after the warm drizzle early on.0 -
I'm atop a hill in SE Cornwall. I think the weather drops all the rain on us before crossing the Tamar. I often leave for work in the rain, get to Plymouth to find it's dry as a bone.0

we have had constant rain /drizzle here today. blowing horizontal at times !!
ruby has finally joined the pack :T [sorry to prattle on re ruby ...]
barneys put out but has obviously decided to put up and shut up...:)
makes me feel lazy reading re all your seed planting !! must get going, just had to take it easy this week and iv consequently not got "into" anything..:o
im off to test drive some vans at the weekend...iv had such patronising conversations on the phone with some garages as soon as they think a girlie is buying... so tough, they dont get my business, money is hermaphrodite !!:rotfl:0 -
I had a hugely productive day garden wise today
! Since I bought waterproof gardening gloves I picked up all the litter and bits of debris from around the garden. There were pots in the front garden that I have always hated so I emptied them and am going to get rid of them. Also had to pick up lots of toys and other things that had been abandoned on the patio
Then I moved a whole load of terracotta pots into a shady part of the garden that just seems to gather leaves so I need to think what to plant in them, they are a variety of sizes so all suggestions welcomeedible or bee friendly would be ideal.
I also started to weed around the raspberries and the rhubarb, I hate those creeping buttercups . Finally got the garlic planted out, late I knowbut it is done. Planted a few herbs up indoors and ordered my canes for my beans.
Tonight I went to get compost (not enough for all our pots) and in my local Homebase they had a load of planters in aluminum reduced from £19.99 to £2! So I bought 4 long ones for my cut and come again salad leaves.Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -

We to had a really lovely warm day. Got a start on the big clear up - pots blown all ways.
Got some really cheap bulbs out of Poundland - they do packs of white bulbs - 26 Anemone, 8 Gladioli. 6 Freesias - 2 packs for £1 - ridiculously cheap.
It came really nippy late afternoon - noticed a heavy frost came in fast on the garss over atthe veg garden & tonight there's ice outside the caravan. Back to heavy rain tomorrow so glad to get outside today.
Mrs Chuckles is out of solitary & appearing much improved - really glad about that as I didn't have much hope for her.
My that's cheap diesel Dave - I think we are about £1.49 @ Litre nearest to us.
God news on the hoss front Alfie - always nice when they join the flock/pack/herd?
Some pretty weird planning laws coming in - every house to be with in so many metres of a fire hydrant etc etc. All dreamt up by some whizz kid in Edinburgh no doubt. Not much of it is workable in the Highlands. OH is fed up - don't blame him.0
