Alfie..as I was replying to your pm earlier the insurers called and it all got very stressful..bt thanks, glad to help and why ot just try the grass nuts first of all to see if that helps rather than making lots of changes.
If you can't find a stockist let me know and I'll see if I can help. If you want to try the cheaper ones first I'll dig out an old sack and get contact details...big suppliers oftne don't stock grass pellets anymore, but indies can usually get them in....especially if you prepay! Simple Systems deliver...but only if you order 20 items! (i.e. a pallet of grass pellets!) fine for me...we get though that (and so could you in a winter if he likes them...) but too risky if you've not tried them, so I could get a sack of mine to you....if I have transport again soon!0 -

iv just looked up the simplesystem for the blue grass and its £9.95 a 20kg bag. i dont think thats expensive but i cant see anywhere details for minimum amount? in which case i may take you up on your offer [i can always collect if difficult for you to deliver]. i have checked out my nearest supplier and its dorchester.[although i couldnt see it in thier lists?]. dilema !!!

RED one, buy the red one for Barney! not the blue...sorry, blue would be ok for the tinies though! (edit: sorry I've been really distracted for a couple of days so was probably unclear about that)
I'll dig out the manufacture name of the cheaper nuts tomorrow. If you have an independent supplier they will be able to get you a bag or two from their wholesalers...but you ight have to lean on them to get them too. The Simple systems however you need a supplier for. £9.95 for grass doesn't normally strike me as good value, but these are good and because we have the two very oldies I like the red nuts.
If enough people were interested I'd sell it from here out of a barn, lol.0 -
Saw the fattest fox I've ever seen this morning. From a distance it looked like it had the body of a round dog...like a bullterrier. It paused by the hedge to look back at me.
The field master told me he' seen four cubs by our pond this summer.....but we've had no tracks round the yard. I'm reluctantly thinking next year I might have to let the hunt ride through.0 -
Nothing much showed in all the snow. There was just one track, in the part of the orchard not chicken fenced or stocked.
At the moment, I'm feeling pleased that we didn't go straight out and buy loads of new electric fencing. Let's hope I carry on feeling like that!0 -
i thought fox hunting was illegal.0

I had a pet fox...not one i just fed in the garden. i was "doing" a landscaping contract at a sort of indoor nature quest that was being built. i had to put plants needed for various critters to emulate thier habitat. a fox was brought in and she had cubs but rejected them. we fostered out 4 and left her with one and she was ok. i took one home and had to bottle feed him . he grew up with my cats and a ....lurcher ! when he was older he had a big enclosure of his own in the middle of the animal enclosure area at my then house. surrounded by chickens, ducks, geese, a goat [who he played with when out !] he moved house with me and was just like a dog, all the local children came to play with him. i used to walk the riverside with the goat, lurcher and fox. he was put to sleep last year at the grand age of 15 and he is so missed.
i know not everyone will agree with foxes in general but i see every animal in its own right.0
