Over the past 3 years we've invested in woollen blankets, some new, some via Ebay, and gradually changed the bed coverings away from fleeces.
It makes a big difference to the comfort of the bed, as fleeces tend to trap in moisture.
I do have some different clothes for gardening and decorating, trouble is they look just like all my others! Went to pick up GD3 from nursery today and wore my best leather gloves. Noticed three fingers sticking out where the thread had gone, must have done it stacking the last load of wood
The one garment I always use next to the skin is a wicking t-shirt, invaluable when active outside to stop that chill on the skin. Started using them about 10 years back for a long charity walk.0 -

Its crazy isn't it...but while I wear fleece I don't have it on the bed for all the reasons you say. The exception would be on the very very coldest nights when bed is too cold to get on to the sheets and a fleece is warm to the touch when I've slept between two fleeces inside the bed.
Our siting roomis bedecked with a few fleeces and wool throws etc that we snuggle under when its cold and we are sitting. Also I have a duvet under the sofa cushions for when al else has failed to keep me warm when I'm still.0 -

Just had a look online and it seems that some work better than others. There is an ex army one on ebay that looks good if it works.Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0 -

Got a mix of them, usually bought when on offer at camping shops like Blacks.
But lately I've just bought running and cycling tops from LIDL, much cheaper and they still seem to work OK ('cept for the running and cycling!).
When I was training for the walk I wore cotton Ts under full hiking gear and with a weighted pack, one day it was cold & windy and I came down with a really bad chill. Never again.0 -

Does your wife like men in them too then?:D0 -
Jackets. I've got my new one now but keep wearin he old onewith one sleeve missing...cos the new one is clean
. The sip works on my old one, btu th pockets are all hanging out...like some sort of clothing flasher.:D:D
i remember i had an old wax barbour jacket that i too wore to death, i had it for YEARS... my mother used to chuck it out [hoping to hide it in one of my sheds until she thought id lost it and then dispose of it!!] behind my back and i would always retrieve it much to her shame !!
in the end i had to give up wearing it mainly due to the smell !! BUT it didnt go to the bin ...i chopped it about and made a dog coat for my lurcher [had smart chord collar etc], she looked really trendy tho im not sure if the smell got to her too as even after washing and reproofing it it had its own distinct perfume in an enclosed area !!0
