    Liverpool, anyone? :)

You could come and pitch tents on our lawn... :D :rotfl: Or maybe we could hire a marquee? And inspect the renovation project... Doubt we'll be moved in by summer, but hopefully there'll be bathroom and shower room working by then even if we're still in the what is likely to be a long process :o of moving in. Hope the build will be finished by then anyway.

No interesting livestock other than the neighbours' cats, birds, squirrels, hedgehog and fox (oh, and frogs) I'm afraid.

  • I like the smallholders show idea, never been to that and it would make a great occasion and an excuse for the trip.

Poosmate I hope your burns are healed now, and no more car-related nightmares.

CTC I loved your cushions, the flower idea was fab!

Nothing exciting to report here, other than that I am still trying to think of tasty uses for Jerusalem artichokes - anyone want any??

We had them last night. I sauteed them, lots of salt and pepper and lemon juice. Yum. I saw a recipe on line with cream, rosemary and white wine, also sounds ood. My mother makes fritters from them, I suppose pne could less unhealthily make a fritata.

    Evening all,

Thank you all for your kind words.

CTC. you did make me laugh about cutting down to a lower brand, I've been on the lowest of the low for what seems like years already! lol As for luxury biscuits, I only have the freebies that are passed round at work by the rich people!

Davesnave, I hope you're right about those troublesome days being behind me! As for the AA rest assured I won't be signing up with them again any time soon! The worst part about it was that the roads in the midlands were totally free of ice and snow! A couple of months ago I was on a Highway Safety course and was told the average time a vehicle stays on the hard shoulder without incident was 12.5 minutes - heaven know's where they got that statistic from!??!!

Winged one, hope your Christmas Stocking venture goes well next year!

LIR, you are right and I'm not usually so sensitive and can usually hold my own. I was just so very raw (literally in places!). I have also experienced the the very real and genuine willingness to help a fellow MSE'er. You'll see from my sig I am one of "Mike's Mob". We are a group who followed a guy who'd been seriously ripped off by a dodgy builder. We all helped to get DIY SOS to help him (with a mass email). He had his whole house rebuilt (practically) and some of us went down to West Sussex to help the DIY SOS crew. To my knowledge it hasn't been shown on tv as yet. It will be one of the DIY SOS Big Build programmes (on for an hour).

Alfie, so glad you enjoyed your night out and thanks for that tip. I remember years ago going to see Lord Of The Dance (the one after Riverdance) at the NIA in Birmingham. It was very high and very steep so I understand exactly what you mean, very unpleasant sickly feeling.

CTC, being a biker, have you ever stayed in that pub on the old A5 called The Fountain I think? It's not far from Fest yni og (?sp) and Bets y coed (?sp). I could be persuaded to a meet up at the show, 3rd weekend in May is usually the bank holiday weekend isn't it? (My birthday weekend normally).

LIR hope your day goes ok tomorrow and the animals are not too stressed. Oh and you too of course! lol

Maggie, I hope you do get moved and settled into your home sooner rather than later. I'll give camping on your lawn a miss thanks, the frogs would seriously freak me out!

Rummer, I'm sure you'd be welcome where ever it was!

Trog, thanks, my burns are healed now thanks.

Once again, thanks for all your kind words. I don't know how I could have stayed away for so long! Oh, my cabbages and lettuce and spring onions are still in the garage and I haven't seen them for weeks! I've had so much going on and it's been so cold, I've now sealed the garage door and will not go out there until spring probably! lol

Have to go now to tape some cling film over all my windows, my house is so cold Eskimos wouldn't even live here! I'm sure it's built on some ancient Druidistic sacrificial burial ground where there is a vortex of invisible ungodly phantoms swirling round my living room!

See you all soon, take care

Cold? Brrrr sometimes I go outside to stand for a bit just to see if there is any benefit off being insiide!

Gosh! That cling film stuff is very clingy! On the last slice I discovered a way to pull off longish (like 40") pieces without it curling in on itself and sticking together! Yay! Hopefully when I do the kitchen windows and bedroom windows it will be a lot quicker. It really doesn't look very pretty but I am beyond caring! I'll pop out the back tomorrow and see what it looks like from outside, although it will probably be hidden with the frosted glass (I did the bathroom). I used white electrical tape in the hope that it will stick better and be a bit waterproof for when I shower. I guess I'll find out soon enough! lol

CTC I used to ride a Kawasaki, I had a GPz500s, I was a proper biker too, I fell off and I rode all year round. We had a sort of curse in our bike club whereby whenever anyone got a new bike (either new or second hand) they always dropped it within a few weeks. I think almost every one of us dropped it at some point, usually losing our footing on gravelly or uneven ground. I had a humdinger of a stakit in the middle of Wales once (playing with the big boys). Took a tight bend way too fast in too high a gear and highsided it! I was living at home at the time, back with mom, and was more worried about telling her how I come about my injuries. All I remember is sitting in the middle of the road facing the way I'd just come from and seeing helmets above the hedges heading my way. I got up quickly and ran like a looney waving them down. Then I looked back and saw my beautiful bike lying on the floor on the wrong side of the road and just burst into tears (yeah I did the girlie thing and cried!). I was very lucky not to have broken my leg, I chipped the bone in my shin, I can still feel the indent and the lump where the bone chip fused onto the bone above it. Can't see it anymore though as I've put a couple of pounds on since my hey days! Oh they were happy times! Oh I forgot to add, there was a paramedic riding with us and he went straight to my bike - bless him!

Oops! I forgot to hit the enter button! lol

Anyway, I do go on don't I?! lol sorry!

    Take care all.
