please note ..the members of certain "old" bands have never in thier life had a HEALTHY days work :rotfl:!!
    no disrespect meant.....:o

I wouldn't know. I was too busy carrying speakers and stuff up flights of stairs to notice what the girls were doing! :p

On the subject of parasite build-up,it doesn't look like I'm going to have cattle here any time soon, so no cross-grazing as I'd hoped. Pete the farmer knows there's been no sheep on here for many years & he says he drenched all the ones we have before bringing them here, but what else could/should we be doing if only sheep will graze the land?
I'm pushing for a rest period and a hay crop again next year, but really I'm a bit green about all this!:o:o

Green about X Factor too I'm afraid. Not seen it. DW is 'Strictly' about that!

we had freebie tickets to see purple and whitesnake.

and to be honest i was bored in the purple concert:cool: went to the after gig party....hah some after gig party, it was like hot chocolate and get your slippers on type of party...:rotfl:

hubby is in a rock band.... they are quite well know locally...he is a bass player... and our boys play drums guitar and bass, so as you can imagine i am totally out numbered by the musicians..... never mind at least i got my sewing machine :rotfl:

DH was a working musician when we met. In fact, um, yeah...we were both in very different places than we are now! I'll be honest, I don't miss those days AT ALL. I feel a bit pathetic saying that but its true. I'm glad we had them, but I wouldn't want to still be there...unless uber successful now...not for us. I miss lots of our friends and parties and some of the watching live music (I don't do that at all now though DH sometimes does) but I do not miss the working a year behind finances...because next year could be good or not, and you can't spend it just in case!, the carrying stuff for someone in a strapless dress and heels up stairs, the taking care of musicians during crises...financial, emotional....constant (the one muso/actor who would turn up and not go to his own flat...which he owned outright...for a fortnight at a time till I would have to literally put him out ).

Most of all I miss the youthful stamina of back then though!:o

This morning was so beautiful. The field troughs still haven't defrosted though the days really are mild now, but the mist was the thing this morning, the dogs ran into it and leaped out of it like strange ethereal creatures before disappearing again. One of those ''its good to be alive'' mornings. :)

that sounds like one of those magical moments in life...

we had some frost this morning, the sun is out, but i hav been cold all morning..

made 2 cushions so far, think they will be ok to sell, just hope people dont look to closely at the sewing skills ;):rotfl:

I want to go to dunelm mill to pick up more cushion inners, but I think its going to be mayhen there, so might leave it until tomorrow after work... hopefully it will be quieter than a sunday afternoon...

Rebbecca or Matt to win the X factor....:T:beer:

did you watch last night? I must admit all the guest except for 'Christine up my own backside Agliera' sp? really worked and gelled well with the contestants.. maybe it was because Rebbecca is in a totally diff league to her.....

going to have a cuppa, and a few panadols to try and get rid of this dam cold.. and watch a few christmas films, maybe that will get me in the mood:D ( not that type of mood lol...:rotfl:)

  • ok for my first attempt to sew cushion covers, i am really pleased..

the brown tweed type on in the back, i thought i could get away with doing like a fold over thing, but it hasnt worked, so will def need to put a zip in that one... plus i have only pinned the button and heart on, so will finish that when i get the zip.
Plus the flower things are removeable, i put brooach backs on them,
I really did like doing the bolster type cushion, so i think i will do a few more of them for the antique stall, but i think i am too late now for hte christmas sales, as i found out they dont open the week before christmas, but they do open as normal after christmas.

Crafting, repairing, making do and mending is all part of the country going back to basics and smallholding life.. so i am getting the practice in ready for when we do have a bit of land...:rotfl:
