That house looks amazing CTC as others have said why not contact the local library and historical society as they may have info or be able to put you touch with people who can help. Does no-one in the local pub/farms etc remember anything about the history of the place?
I have had to bring some of my animals indoors today as they are not coping with the cold. The roads here are still lethal so another snow day for me tomorrow. No sign of it clearing either!

what part of the world do you live in Rummer? What animals have you brought indoors?

In this country its a separate place from the actual county libraries. I think it is actually called ''History Centre''. The library will know what you mean though.0 -

I am in Scotland and it is just family pets that I have brought in, not a herb of cows :rotfl::rotfl:
Usually each county or area has a local history expert or someone who works in the library archives. The other place to check would be the local city library or university library as they often store old historical documents. Registry offices can sometimes have records dating very far back so they may give you details of occupants etcTaking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -
CTC If you could give us a clue as to where this property is, even the county or district then I can maybe point you in the right direction.Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0

This morning, I opened the back door and trudged along the garden path to the yard sighing and feeling mournful for my poor Cochin, mournful I was doing mornings with out the dogs and generally grim. As I closed the gate my great big girl came lucking round the corner, jigged up to me and asked for a carry.
As I carried her over to join the others inside for some breakfast she told me all about it, clucking and chattering away.
She looks none the worse for wear.

I think we know though. Hurray for the return of the non-prodigal chicken!
Just been doing my least favourite job of picking the ice floes out of the troughs by hand. Thaw soon, surely?0 -
And a plumber is coming to see me this afternoon to see if he wants to do the work, I'm going to bake a cake and put some make up on...who knows what will help!
I've told the dogs that we are going to get geese, but I don't think they are taking me seriously yet. Hah, they'll see.0 -
