ok i am getting more nosey by the minute now.. so def want to find out hte history/age of this place...lol..Work to live= not live to work0 -
what a fabulous old place that is...really gets the imagination going as to what it WAS like and WHEN !!
Doesn't it?
The sad thing is you dream about these places, they make it hard to restore them and then, if you can they almost invariably lose some charm.
Does anyone know the magic words to catch and tame a plumber? As well as the yard there is going to be some house plumbing to do soon and I'mfinding that securing a plumber is like trying to trap a yeti.0 -

i know its not funny but that did make me giggle...
can anyone locally recommend one? a GOOD one?
I should imagine they are really busy at the mo with this freezing cold weather...Work to live= not live to work0 -
RAS's suggestion is good. We've done it for this place, its an amazing resource. They let you handle really old maps and documents and you can see how things change on maps over the years.0

Just trying to decide what types ATM. Ready made geese would be useful now. The dogs showed me this great new game grandpa taught them when we went out this evening.....

Its like alightbulb switched on in the greyhounds mind. I worked sohard when she was a pup to make sure she new cats and birds weren't for chasing, but she's just realised that though its not GOOD it is possible:(0 -
bit of a b****r that !!
Yep. Both dogs are sighthounds, and one is never trusted, but the greyhound has been really useful and ''works'' the hens like a collie for me. I can't work her for a few days without t'other do as I'm here aone,so going to keep them out of the yard till weekend and take her out and go back to working on a lunge line and take it in baby steps. Then when I feel happier with her I'll start on the other one.0 -
That house looks amazing CTC as others have said why not contact the local library and historical society as they may have info or be able to put you touch with people who can help. Does no-one in the local pub/farms etc remember anything about the history of the place?
I have had to bring some of my animals indoors today as they are not coping with the cold. The roads here are still lethal so another snow day for me tomorrow. No sign of it clearing either!Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0
