I think old caravans have little insulation. If it's condensing on the back wall - that is okay -ish. The steam & moisture has to go somewhere I suppose.
Yes - we have the finest view in Scotland. If I didn't love my croft I'd of ran off ages ago.0 -

I could look at pictures of your view all day. I think there must be money in low impact tourism. FWIW if I could hire a highland pony up there I'd love to spend time solo (or with DH) exploring.0 -
I know a woman who breeds Exmoor ponies!0

That's an amazing photo, choille! I haven't had a really good view since I rented a 5th floor flat, when I had the whole of a river valley in view. With the roads, the railway, the canal, the river, the playing fields and about 100 back gardens in easy sight, I felt like God. It wasn't picturesque, but there was always something happening.
We had to go over to Bournemouth today, because DD2's original ferret, Eric, had to be put down last night. He was on borrowed time, having shown signs of tumours in the summer, so it was expected. We've brought him back to be buried alongside his lifelong friend, Wilf, who succumbed to the same thing earlier in the year. They were both a good ferret age.
I suspect DD2 may find herself two ferret kits in the spring, despite them being a lot of extra work & expense for a full time student. Caring & paying for them is a responsibility she's had since the age of 14, so it'll be interesting to see what she decides.0 -

Hi Dave - What a shame for your DD. Goodness how long do ferrets live? She sounds sensible taking the responsibility for her pet since 14. I think that's a great thing.
Bournemouth eh? Wonder you didn't fall off the end & end up in France - wonder how far that is from here? Bet it's like Summer down there? Only jesting - I go a bit funny when it's cold.
Alfie - glad you are sorted. make the most of being spoilt tonight... you,ll be handed a shovel probably tmorow !!:D :rotfl:
Poor LIR - Hope you are resting up. Things like that are very painful.0 -

I'm so sorry to hear that. I hope DD and the rest of you are ok. The ferrets sound like very great fun companions.0 -
LIR - when you were all talking about alpacas/llamas I nearly chipped in that we had considered them but we couldn't afford them, but we thought about them for treking as they would 'suit' the landscape in a way. But they way money is just managing to keep us & what we've got subsisting - couldn't take owt else on, plus would have to redo one of the byres.0
