moggins wrote:Finally finished it, I got waylaid by the Jane Furnival book which is a total load of rubbish and a big waste of money. Wish I'd realised it was for people who earn and spend wads of cash before I'd bought it
That's one for e-bay I think.
Totally agree with your thoughts on the TWG

Me too! I was getting a bit carried away with this money saving / frugality thing and bought the Furnival book on impulse ( to make up an Amazon order for free postage!). My next order will include the Tightwad Gazette after reading everyone's enthusiastic review on here.0 -
I bought Mr Thriftys by Jane Furnival I started it, but gave up as I wasn't enjoying it. I was going to try again as thought perhaps it improves, luckily it put me off buying her new one0

I just read somewhere on the net that Amy has donated a house to a lady with kids that was living in a shelter. She has also helped a lot of her relatives out and is heavily involved in the good works of her particular church.Penny xxx

I think it is a great buy, so packed with information and even if you only use half of it, it's worth it. I also find it interesting to find out how they live frugally in America.
She must have made a fortune from it all, but still lives frugally. However, I believe the chap who owns Ikea is similar in his outlook and lives really frugally. It is a mindset. Infact if I were to win the lottery (which I won't as I hardly do it) I would find it very difficult to change my ways of making do and turning something into something else and reusing stuff!Grocery Challenge £139/240 until 31/01
