Seems I have only the bathroom to do and I'll have done all five days this week
We don't need to do it perfectly - good enough is exactly that GOOD ENOUGH.

Sexymouse ~~ tell him NO, and mean no, to me guns of any sort are dangerous, so tell him to go to his club far far safer.

Rach~~ Oh and I were in bed Saturday night at 9.10pm and he was asleep within 10 mins!! I think his grandchild and family wore us out, plus all the 4 hours of cleaning we did each before they arrived!! (I had other ideas about an early night!!, so I had a cuddle with the cat instead!)

Soappie~~ have your spuds chitted then ready to plant out, mine seem to be taking ages.

If the rugby keeps on the way it is, I 'm going to need a new sofa!! he keeps jumping up and down and yelling.

Question - we've got quite a small back garden and OH wants to create a shooting range in the back corner of it. I've told him that I don't want him to and he's sulking. Am I being unfair? I've told him that he can shoot at the ranges at his club but he says he wants to practice.

There's a lot more to consider than just this. There are very strict regulations, depending on:

    1. Size of garden/proximity of neighbours
    2. Shotgun or rifle
    3. What shotgun/firearms certificate allows
    4. How much he wants to alarm the neighbours

I shot at national/international level for years, and never felt the need to practice at home. Mental rehearsal is good enough for the top shots (I trained with two world champions), so should be good enough for him. If you don't want to discuss on the thread feel free to PM me/email via yahoo.

He needs to be VERY careful not to have any certificates withdrawn/equipment seized/club membership withdrawn.

ETA - a little something for you all to read! http://www.quotegarden.com/housework.html

Got to p.63 now, nearly there!

Natty, that sounds awful about the hospital! If it was your turn, and he was there talking to you, how long would it have taken to examine you?Five minutes? And you'd been there so long! Sounds appalling!
I was once taken to hospital, and put on a chair in a ward. I was there from mid-afternoon til midnight, by which time th staff were heard asking each other if I and my dad who was with me were relatives of someone! Dad hit the wall, and we got to see th doctor pretty quickly after that!

Soappie, I really hope they can sort something out for DOW and OG. Hospital definately isn't the place for her. One of my people has Alzheimers and went into hospital and came out minus dressinggown, electric razor, slippers etc, cos he just wandered around and left things places and then didn't know where they were. The staff told his wife that his belongings were his responsibility!

Happy to help... shooting is 90% psychology and 10% technique - he has to be calm, centred, rational, unemotional... I'm not sure how I can fit doing his share of the housework in ;) ... but I'd recommend yoga and pilates if he's taking it seriously. They'll help prevent back pain from prone shooting, and improve stability and flexibility if he's doing kneeling and standing. Plenty of exercise to help keep his heat rate down (running is good...), and lots of eye exercises, as well as visualisation and relaxation.

I gave up shooting as it was expensive, took up all my time, and involved spending a lot of time getting rained/snowed/hailed on or baked to death! I'm sure it was fun at some point...
