    Hi to all :)

I'm new to the thread (but I've been reading MSE for years). I need a cleaning rocket up my derriere and saw about this thread on another website and thought it'd be just what I need.

OMG... we're famous :T :T :T ... go on... tell us... where did you hear about us then :rotfl:

Rosepink - do something else. Doing the same thing for a long time gets dull :o . Have a HHK, make the bed, clean the loo and then maybe do another bowlful of washing up. And try to keep on top of it in future so you don't have to put yourself through this again! Little and often, remember ;)

    Morning all!

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY FLOWER! :bdaycake:

Wilf55 - congrats to your son! That's brilliant!

Rosepink - how are you getting on with those dishes? It's a shame Scoutsdon't do "bob a job" weeks anymore - we could make the most of them!

Greenbee - That's the problem I keep encountering! I left Law due to stress (I fully appreciate that teaching is stressful too.....) and have previously worked in commercial/corporate - mergers and acquisitions, getting calls at all hours, drawing up contracts at half past stupid....and I have wanted to teach for such along time! Ultimate goal is to teach in British International schools in Spain. I have been offered teaching positions in Bankok, but I know that I wouldn't cope with all the people! I am a quiet bunny at heart. :D. Have been advised by Exeter that they have places on the Citizenship PGCE, and have e-mailed the tutor - I hope if we can meet for a chat, she can give me some good advice.

Also, I agree with you on the grammar side - there is no excuse for bad spelling on a CV!

Anyway, so I don't get a black mark from HRH (Thanks for the list pigpen, hope you are well enough for college today - and thanks Toots for the hearts - yay!) here's my list!

Mr T has been and gone, and is all put away. very sweet driver carried it all upstairs for me (our door is at street level but all the flat is upstairs)...DH usually carries it up when I get it in the evening. DH said I should've given him a tip - what do you think? It didn't even cross my mind!!

Found a bit of lasagne in the freezer that could do with eating up, so I'll have that when I get back from town. Just coming up with my list of cards then I'll be on my way, will treat myself to a coffee and some skinny cake whilst I'm there! I'll do the kitchen when I get back.

greenbee - my boss can't string a written sentence together (or an oral one come to that) and it does my head in. My dad drummed it all in to me. DH just deletes things if they're not up to his standard!!

I've got more incentive to keep going with the washing up now. I found a plate of mouldy food, couldn't even identify what it used to be! It was so gross! Yuck yuck yuck! I definately need to get on top of all this today, it's no way to live. Once it's all done, I'm going to really try hard to not let it all build up like this.
I haven't told DH what I'm doing today, he's going to be so surprised when he gets home!

I don't know what Mr T's policies are but when I worked at Mr W (you know, the posh one) we weren't allowed to take tips. If it caused offense to refuse them we could take small tips but we had to declare them and they would be given to charity, but on the whole we were supposed to refuse politely.

I agree with whoever it was about the poor grammar and spelling, my Mum drummed good spelling into me. And especially on a CV! Imagine not being taken on for a job because your spelling on your CV was so bad! That would be awful! Do these people not use spell checker if they can't spell? An exception would be dyslexics, but you would think they would get someone to help them. My sister gets my mum to proofread important things to make sure the spelling is ok, as she is dyslexic.
Am decluttering some food, and then going to find something more interesting to do than washing up!
