    Why?

    1) I earn a decent salary and do not need to use coupons.

    2) I do not want Tesco to send me junk mail.

    3) I do not want to carry around yet another plastic card.

    4) I am not loyal to any one store. If I am in X town I go to Tesco. If I am in Y town I go to Sainsbury's. If I am in Z town I go to M & S.

I'd say relatively few people 'need' to use the coupons. But when actually getting them requires all the effort of handing a clubcard over at the end of every shop, it's an easy way to get money off.
    2) I do not want Tesco to send me junk mail.
They don't. I've never received anything from Tesco save for the envelopes containing my vouchers.
    3) I do not want to carry around yet another plastic card.
So use the key fob ;)
    4) I am not loyal to any one store. If I am in X town I go to Tesco. If I am in Y town I go to Sainsbury's. If I am in Z town I go to M & S.
Loyalty doesn't come into it for me either, as it probably doesn't for most people. But getting the reward of a Clubcard doesn't require loyalty. If it's easy and you get it regardless, why not?

Of course it's your choice, but really the main effort involved is just filling out your details on the form. And if you really do have a sufficiently high earnings capacity that you don't need to worry about saving money, I'd suggest that you're on the wrong site ;)

We do our shopping at Tescos but do it online. Have never used the self service checkouts, only the ones at Asda.

    For the record...
Our income exceeds £1,000/week - so I presume I am also on a "decent salary" but also like something for nowt.
    1) I still use my clubcard and convert them into Days Out Vouchers - no effort for £100,s of entrance fees per year.
    2) I have never received junk mail.
    3) It is a small bit of plastic attached to my car keys.
    4) Even if you use Tesco once a month it still adds up for ZERO effort.

Each to their own but I now have £200 worth of Days out vouchers to use this summer.

Crazy Jamie - I like Vent because it helps to prevent me and my family from making potentially expensive/time wasting/stressful mistakes. If you bother to check my previous posts you'll notice that I don't talk about coupons/vouchers etc at all

Abbafan - You asked me a question and I answered you honestly. I didn't realise you were just doing it to snipe at me. If I had realised that - I would not have answered you. I won't make the same mistake again.

Advent - I STILL don't want a clubcard. Congratulations on that salary - your mother must be so proud!

    Love you all loads,

    Takoda!

PS I found out tonight that triggerrabbit is a BLOKE. It was bad enough when I thought it was a woman! A bloke getting annoyed over 2p is incredible!

    Not by me it has'nt

Takoda, i would just like to say that i'm over the moon you have a "good salary", really well done:j .

The name of this website is MONEY SAVING EXPERT, so it should'nt matter how much or how little you earn when you use this site.

I too have a good salary and a good job, but i still like saving money like everyone else on this site. I also have many loyalty cards, but like yourself do not use the same shop to buy from just for the loyalty points, i only use them if i am in there.

The point i was originally and i'm still trying to make is that the woman was stealing, Takoda how would you feel if someone stole a newspaper from your letter box (if you get one delivered) it's only what 30-40p for a newspaper, or does that too count as theft or is that initiative?

Why exactly would I check your previous posts before replying to one in this thread? In all honesty I just read this one......

You post on a public forum so you can expect to be judged if you make totally daft posts about 2ps.
...... that you posted earlier on this thread and assumed that someone with such insight into how the internet works would embrace constructive discussion on the point. I mean, if you post on a public forum devoted to money saving you can expect to be responded to if you make posts dismissing a simple way of saving money, right?

I sometimes use the self service till at M&S. When it asks me how many carrier bags I have used, I say "none" even if I have used one.

That's 5p saved. It all adds up.
