If the 'overworked' LOL checkout staff can't be bothered to check whether people actually have their own bags or not then it is obviously not a matter of importance! Well it is to YOU but that's another story I guess...
And I might add at minimum wage I challenge anybody to be concentrating on saving the company, that makes millions of pounds a day, a penny here and there.0 -
Sorry to have to point this out - but if that was the only thing which annoyed you today then - you possibly need to get out more triggerrabbit.
Picking up other people's receipts = initiative.
I refuse to have a club card. We use our own material bags from a desire to lessen landfill but occasionally the amount of shopping we buy exceeds the space in our own bags. When that happens we help ourselves to the free ones.

The self service checkout allows you to say how many re used bags you have, giving you 1 penny for each one used, the lady did not use her own bags so did claim the 2 WHOLE PENNIES!!!.
Takoda, i said i was annoyed, would it be better if i said disbelievement? The point is how desperate does someone have to be to steal 2 pence? Anyway, whoever you are takoda obviously you dont like trolls but you pass judgement on a fellow MSE'er? I have no problem with people using vouchers, coupons etc but what she was doing had me in disbelief.ACHIEVING THE AIM SINCE.........0 -
Can't believe you are still talking about the 2p!!!
You post on a public forum so you can expect to be judged if you make totally daft posts about 2ps.
Maybe next time you see something similar you should go up to the person and remonstrate with them rather than posting on here about it. Mind you anyone with any sense at all will tell you to...
"Foxtrot Oscar" or "Get a life"
so be prepared for that. I only mention it because you are obviously quite naive. A bit more life experience and you'll worry about far more important issues,

OP you do not know what state the women was in, and every penny does count.
While she used a new bag, SO what? Its nothing let it go.
This thread is useless.0 -
Yeah i know its a useless thread but you lot keep posting an i'm giggling my head off!:j
Thanks Tak, think i'll go and to quote your good self "Foxtrot Oscar"
P.S. next time your at the checkout (and you here the beep!) don't complain on here that someone is taking forever getting all their bonus points added.ACHIEVING THE AIM SINCE.........0 -
The point is that triggerrabbit was annoyed. He/she's (?) not saying it's the end of the world or that they want anything done about it just that it's mildly irritating.
Lots of thinks irritate me; people not looking where there going when walking in town, cyclists driving crazily on the pavement, metro sellers!, I realise that they're not a matter of national importance but it doesn't stop them irritating me.
I see the point, it's hard to believe that anyone would be so desperate as to steal 2p.
And the fact that the shopper was well dressed does make a difference. Well dressed not smartly dressed. You can still be well dressed in a tracksuit (although personally it's not my style!) but if you're not well dressed then it does indicate that you don't have much money.Wedding 5th September 20150 -

Hi,
I have to say that when I am doing the self service at Tesco's - well I often put down that I have used a couple of my own bags - even when not .... shock - horror ...
I have to be honest, can not see the big deal??

Thank you Blue Angel CV, a person that gets my point. If everyone did this little "trick" every day, then how much would prices have to rise to cover this abuse. Whether the person is well dressed or not, young or old male or female theft is theft.ACHIEVING THE AIM SINCE.........0 -
So out of the thousands of people registered on MSE there are now a grand total of 2 people who are annoyed about someone else getting 2p they were not entitled to...
