they would not be in a position to do that unless i gave them one - like defaulting on the payments. they cannot just use other properties to get out of irrisponsiloble lending.

they were happy to lend the money at the time based on the security of the property concerned.

if prices hit hard times, they cant steal your other home just like that.

    They can and will try!

thanks for the sarcy response - but no, i didn't know best - if i did i would not have bought it. i trusted the broker i had, the one that i was dictated to use - and he acted against me because he was in on the deal.

So, you either ignored the inner alarm bells because you were blinded by the £££ (I would have been wondering why they insisted I had no choice and would not want me to get my own independent advice. That "whoop, whoop" you heard was an alarm not a celebration)

    or

you agreed to use their broker and solicitor because they knew how to 'bend the rules' to get it through when a normal broker would not understand this very complex transaction and how to get it through.

"Any other broker will just ruin this for you as they don't know how to present it to the lender"

does that sound familiar? Still want to insist that it all seemed legit and there was no reason to suspect it was a bit dodgy and worth checking before signing on the dotted line?

cashpig, you clearly think you know what you are doing, just make sure that "giving evidence" doesn't turn into "confessing to a crime". Remember that the police are judged on results as much as anyone else. If this whole case goes pear shaped the only evidence will be statements you have made and "anything you do say may be given in evidence".

well you knw what, if that happens then that happens, I just have to deal with that by slitting my own throat in mass depression.

But hey, at least it wont affect you guys or this comical thread

Try telling that to a commercial landlord client of mine.

he has just been to court to get a charging order on someone's house against their will in order to secure money they owe him.

The reason you have given them is submitting a fraudulent application causing them to lose money.

They are within their rights to call in the mortgage, sell for whatever they can and come after you for any shortfall and their costs

Well I left the industry, went through a rocky patch but have now been promoted to General manager running the southern part of the UK.

I would have told my client, in fact I told a friends client, to stay away from these scams!

All I can say now is TOOL!

Stay Away From Scams? What Kind Of Advice Is That?

If It Was A Clear Scam - I Dont Think They'd Need You To Tell Them.

Its Identifying A Scam When You Don't Know It That's The Key Here.

And I Wasn't Blinded By ££££££££ Thanks, I Was Interested In What Seemed Like A Worthwhile Investment Opportunity.

Do I Feel Stupid That U Are Judging Me?

LISTEN YOU THICK FUK... I ALREADY SAID I WAS NAIVE TO THE SYSTEM OF BUYING A FUKKING HOUSE - I DONT IT EVERY FUKKING DAY FO A LIVING.

    No. You listen you fraudster.

You tried it on, you got screwed over so you now have to live with it.

THESE PPL DO IT ALL THE FUKKING TIME... THEY TOLD ME (AND NOT ALL ON ONE DAY) THAT THESE ARE THE ASSOCIATED FIRMS THAT WILL ACT FOR ME - I PAID A FINDERS FEE TO THE INVESTMENT COMPANY AND THEY PROVIDED ALL THE LEGAL AND BROKERING SERVICES FOR THAT FEE - AS A SERVICE TO THEIR CLIENTS...

and that's exactly what should have made you suspicious. I know of firms that legitimately find properties for sale below market value and charge finders fees to their clients.

However, they insist the client does their own due diligence and allows the client to use whichever mortgage broker and solicitor they wish.

Their clients would go up the wall if they tried to insist that they used their in house advisers.

If you were not experienced you should have looked into it more.

I AM DONE TALKING TO YOU ABOUT IT - YOUR SOLE INTERST IS TO MAKE YOURSELF LOOK BIG AND CLEVER AT MY EXPENSE. YOU ARE NOT A LAWYER. YOU ARE NOT A FRAUD EXPERT AND YOU ARE NOT PRIVY TO ALL THE DISCUSSIONS I HAVE HAD WITH THE F.SQUAD OVER THE LAST 3 MONTHS.

THANKS FOR YOUR INPUT BUT IM SURE IT IS NOT FOR MY BENEFIT.

My sole interest is to help you see that you have played your own part in this and that blaming the lender who are the true victims is not the way forward.

If you were genuinely duped, you were duped by Challenor, the broker and the solicitor. You should be going after them not looking to have the lender write off the debt.

and by the way - I know exactly how they did it. I know exactly how it was presented to the lender and THAT is why I know it is hugely unlikely that it was all done with you having no knowledge at all.

How do I know? Because I have had my clients come to me having been presented BMV schemes like this to get my advice and opinion on it and because I made it my business to know just in case there was something about it I did not understand.

Some people call it knowing how to do my job.
