Did you declare the gifted deposit to the lender?I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Question (that you don't have to answer), do you have another property, with equity in it? If you do you may find that the lender on this "investment" property may try to get a charging order securing some of the loan against your other home.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. thanks for the sarcy response - but no, i didn't know best - if i did i would not have bought it. i trusted the broker i had, the one that i was dictated to use - and he acted against me because he was in on the deal.0 -
Very good point Silvercar. This is a tactic being used by credit card companies and the like for bad debt.
Some are applying very early for it. If the mortgage was obtained via freud the lender can use a condition in the mortgage to call the debt in!

they would not be in a position to do that unless i gave them one - like defaulting on the payments. they cannot just use other properties to get out of irrisponsiloble lending.
they were happy to lend the money at the time based on the security of the property concerned.
if prices hit hard times, they cant steal your other home just like that.0 -
cashpig, you clearly think you know what you are doing, just make sure that "giving evidence" doesn't turn into "confessing to a crime". Remember that the police are judged on results as much as anyone else. If this whole case goes pear shaped the only evidence will be statements you have made and "anything you do say may be given in evidence".I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards.
