I've just come back from holiday and ours did too - I got Twilight, Artemis Fowl and the new James Bond book all for free. Twilight was about £8 at the airport on the way out
I left my books there too and noticed on the plane on the way home someone was reading one of mine - I knew it was mine as it still had the £1 Red Cross sticker on the back

I love it when one persons car-boot tat is another persons 'vintage' lol. Certainly goes to show that one mans rubish is another mans treasure.
I LOVE carboots and got a £30 aquadoodle for my girl for £3 on sunnday whereas in Argos they are £30.
Also got a bag full of virtually new looking Nike Air Max and Adidas clothes for my boy for £9. He was very pleased.May £10 a day challenge£19.61/£310Ebay challenge...£12.61/£2000 -
I managed to pick up a good condition pair of Diesel cropped jeans for £3.50 from the charity shop the other day. Wow,that vanity case sounds lovely,a little piece of history too.Fantastic find.
What do the 40,s wedding invitations look like?So difficult to find authentic vintage inspiration for things like that online."Reaching out to touch the stars dont forget the flowers at your feet".0 -
Hiya shelovestobuystuff:
The wedding invitation is beautiful ivory coloured textured paper with a horseshoe edged in silver at the top. Vintage stuff like that is so much more subtle than today's garish stuff, isn't it? Lovely copperplate handwriting, too.
I'm kicking myself actually as there was a family with a box of the most amazing photo albums, obviously some elderly relative who'd passed away. The albums were packed with black and white photographs and each contained a different subject matter: Paris, Barcelona, Ibiza and the front page of each album was hand-painted with the name of the place and a few small watercolour sketches. They must have been 1930's-50's era.
They wanted £5 an album but they were absolutely fascinating (maybe next week...)0 -
goanmad - any chance you could post a picture of one of the invites? I am getting married next summer and want some authentic vintage inspiration for mine which I am going to make myself...please please pleaseNot been here in years! Hi everyone. Make £10 a day challenge = £78.45/1550

I'll do my very best to take a photo and upload on Monday, promise, JesaRose! I'm off for the weekend and disconnected the camera and put the batteries away.
Good luck to all of you with any booting, jumbling and chazzing. Looking forward to hearing about your bargains on Monday xx0 -
Hope you have a fab rtime at Hop Farm Goan, will they have vintage stalls like they do at glastonbury though? Sometimes they have some brilliant stuff in pound piles there!! Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0
