I bought the ugliest ornament in the world for £1.25 from a charity shop a few days ago.Cannot find anything like it online but I think it may be a staffordshire flatback, fingers crossed.I couldnt resist the ugly little chap,no-one else would have bought him poor fellow.
Maybe I will take him to flog it who are visiting my town this month and see if they can tell me his name or something.
I also bought myself, with my last £4 which shows what a junk shop addict I am,a green and brown glazed austrian vase and a cobalt blue mottled plant pot made in west germany.I love odd pottery."Reaching out to touch the stars dont forget the flowers at your feet".0 -
Jehova's Witnesses had a pitch at our local boot fair and they were giving away free books. I wonder what books they were! Got to admire their commitment though.0

yes its on i-player.
I was laughing this morning. I admired a fellow mum and neighbours bag at school this morning she smiled and said 75p table top. I replied mine too a £1(saw my bag last week at a designer outlet for £19.99 in the sale so was rather more chuffed with it that i had already been as its so lovely).
It was just one of those moments where you can admire someone elses bargain skills.

OMG I love Mary Portas' shows!! Thanks so much for the heads up!!
Yay!!I love surprises!0 -
I just went in the Mary Portas charity shop at Westfield, London, it's open till June 27th. Some nice stuff in there, everything seems to be size 10 or below though. Some of the prices are quite reasonable though, I saw a Ted Baker top for £6.0

watched my recording of the Mary Portas programme last night. Made me think of a book called Who moved my Cheese by Dr Spencer Johnson that I found in a charity shop. Basically its about a group of mice and the way they adapt to change. I did get her point about collection bags unconsciously encouraging people to put rubbish in them.
bless those old dears cotton socks, they had done things their way for 30 years and several of them weren't going to change for anyone. Reminds me of a charity I supported, some of our old dears thought everything should be priced at 10p and one actually sold a semi precious ring for 20p much to the annoyance of it's giver.
Can't wait for next weeks programme.0
