  • Today I bought ten sets of doll house furniture( a complete room in each box) for £25. VERY pleased as I was looking at doll house sets in hobby craft and they are £35 EACH!! and these are more suitable for younger children rather than adult replica doll house sets, which is what I am after.

I also bought a plastic box full of doll house furniture seperates. He wanted £2 each but as I was looking he said I could have the lot for a fiver including plastic box. There are approx 40 items in the box. he also had a dolls house he wanted ten pounds for but Id run out of money..lol.

  • One great buy in my local charity shop yesterday - two WW2 nightdresses in an original box. They're both peach-coloured, one is very fine cotton with a lace trim, the other is satin. They;ve got the CC41 labels (austerity clothing) and neither has been worn, so that means that they're extremely rare..

Can't help thinking that they must have a story - maybe part of someone's trousseau, and her fiance was killed?

One unfortunate experience - a favourite warm cardi (expensive German designer Evelin Brandt, bought from a charity shop last year) got mixed in with the general wash by mistake and felted, it's kept its shape but is thicker and comsiderably smaller. It's going back to the charity shop tomorrow and there will be a warm and fashionable 5-year-old out there soon!
