A few years ago I might have been one to buy it but I have seen the error of my ways and now would just moan about the price in Topshop and leave without buying anything like I usually do now ;) I feel exactly the same as you now.

I was hoping this might fit me as it is lovely but I feel like I am wearing a corset when its on so I think I'll put it on ebay and see what happens
Not been here in years! Hi everyone. Make £10 a day challenge = £78.45/155
  • Just now I am watching a little blue and white mug just ending on ebay which I bought for 10p,its at £9.99 just now:D.It went for £9.99,not bad for 10p.

Hope you dont mind but I often have a wee peek at your homepage to see how well your finds go! Was the etching one of your bargain finds?
  • Today's treasure is a lovely Boden linen jacket, lined, looks as if it's never been worn, from the charity shop - £6 - it will be great for work as it's easy to slip on if I get a bit chilly!

do people buy stuff from carboots to resell on Ebay. I've tried finding things this weekend and to be honest I didn't know what was worth it or not.

the other thing is that the market/ebay changes! when i first started i did well selling ladybird books - now that market is very depleted. but have a completed search list just as a check/example of what sells and what doesn't.

i really will buy and sell anything - as shelovestobuystuff says it is worth taking a punt if it's only pence. in the past i have sold a book for £67 that i paid 70p for! in recent weeks i have sold a book for £26 (cost me 50p) and another for £25 (cost me 20p) - both lucky punts:D

i also make sure anything i buy/sell is easy to pack too!

Hi,yes it was.Great isnt it?I didnt know what it was when I bought it but I just really liked it and thought that since it was a small limited edition it was worth a go.My local auction house has said 80-120 as a conservative estimate but that it may soar as one has never come up in this country before. They apparantly have overseas clients who they would e-mail about it coming up for sale.
I didnt pay pennies for it but I should get a fair bit on top of my spend.Didnt sell at £200 on ebay but I think I was just being extra hopeful since it was free listing anyway I thought I would try it at that amount and see.
I will get it up to the auction house soon along with my early Noritake komaru teaset which I paid a grand total of £7 for.Again I didnt know what it was when I bought it,I just liked it and happened to be flush with cash at the time(a rare event) so didnt mind spending £7 on the offchance.Fingers crossed it pays for some of the remaining wedding bills.

My mum bought a limited edition Lloyd Middleton doll. There are a few on US ebay and two sold on UK ebay but I can't find a proper website about them. Has anyone ever heard of them?

    Hi JR

Many years ago they used to sell on QVC, Lloyd Middleton: 1938 - 2006 has now passed away and I think this is the website now www.leemiddleton.com.

The dolls were made in limited editions from 1000-2000.

Thanks a lot debidoodle - I think this one is one of 750. I'll have a look and see if I can find out some more info from this site:T

  • Dh picked up a Nivana Record at a local fete on monday, when he looked at the record the record had just a plain sticker on it (no writing), we have searched e-bay but can't find one like it and then we searched the net and found one but we still have no idea if its worth any money. Does any one know about records?

Also picked up some vintage board games for 50p each, one was worth 10.00 on e-bay but 2 pieces are missing.

I only pick up things that i would like for myself, if it turns out to be worth money i will sell it, if not i will keep it for myself. If you are buying to sell you really should register as a buisness (i'm sure the odd piece wont mater but if your selling each week its best to register). Then you need to be selling enough to cover paying Tax and NI.

We have been buying and selling for a year (registered) and we don't make a living out of it, its more of a hobby. Dh has an eye for china and we have had a few good finds, dh also has a book that he picked up for 50p which is worth 200+ but he is keeping hold of it for now.

I love going to the boot sales and will pay to get in early so if i can find something to make me 10.00 each week it covers my petrol and entrance fee's. I buy a lot for my self and the children (toys and clothes are so cheep at boot sales).
