I imagine it's easy for Anthea to keep her step-children's clutter under control when they only spend half the school hols and every other weekend with her (in an enormous mansion !!). I'd love to see how she coped with a full-time job and 3 kids all year round in a normal house.....

BTW - Does anyone else believe she makes the paper bricks for her fire ?
I remember being co-erced to do it as a teenager for pocket money and it was pretty grim - I just can't imagine her getting her hands that dirty !

Having said all that, and the fact that I really don't like Anthea at all, sadly I still found the programme compulsive viewing.
  • Saw a repeat on thurs night / fri morning at work ( nightshift, nursing home) don't have freeview at home. Good job because I think I'd find myself addicted but having increasingly raising blood pressure every time A T opened her mouth. The woman obviously has too much time on her hands. She joins the list of women celebs I'd like to slap. Others include, Amanda Holden, Patsy Kensit and that 'ten years younger' woman
Anyway how does she find time to make a TV programme if she's keeping a house that size spick and span? I'm sure ther must be a cleaner in the closest somewhere. Perhaps she has a secret junk 'wing'

With the amount of money and time that she has I wonder why is is OS - and please don't tell me that she's into environmental issues!!

I have to agree with larmy16, I'm not keen on Miss Tippitoes either! ;)

Oooh I can't stand Amanda Holden either!!! I remember her when she first met Les Dennis and she was on breakfast tv, all smug and simpering about how the age difference was no problem and he was obviously besotted.

Patsy Kensit has not crossed my irritation radar but I agree with you about that 10 years younger woman - her voice - grrr - another one is Natasha Kaplinsky. But I am wandering off topic now, so apologies. ;)

I just caught it on Teleport replay. I have to admit she is smug and I want to slap her silly but...............

I did get the urge to get off my fat bum and clean the place up a bit :D

think the board is divided on whether we like the woman or not, but she has some very good tips. some i've remembered are:

*put newspaper on top of kitchen units and replace them every month to keep units clean.

*scrunch up a bit of newspaper and put it in the back of fridge to absorb odours.

*leave an opened tub of bicarb in fridge, change every month and it will absorb odours.

*roll a newspaper into a tube to keep the shape of long boots etc.

*put half a lemon in the dishwasher to keep it fresh

*use baby oil on stainless steel to clean and stop fingerprints

*cut feet off tights and fill with lavender tie with a ribbon and put in linen cupboard or ib drawers etc.

i honestly think she must lurk on here as some of her ideas are so old style.
last week was about meal planning + making enough to freeze.

she herself admits she is anal about her house but every week her tips really help these people get organised and give themselves a better quality of life.

I only heard of her the other day when someone commented about her on another thread. Does she have a book on house cleaning or something? I find the two women who have a show (can't remember it now as it's off) you know, they go around looking at people's dirty places & cleaning them up. Well they have really good common sense OS advice. I love reading about all that stuff. Makes me feel very motivated for all of 5 mins. ;) I have the Tightwad Gazette on order from our local library. Should be here this week. 3_3_5v.gif:D
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)
