What spiteful creatures to cancel the whole hen do but thankfully the company stepped in and saved it for you - hope you had a fabulous time. As for those spiteful harpies who have tried to ruin your wedding ditch 'em altogether, you don't need people like that in your life.

I've been following this thread, and I'm so pleased for you that it's turned out okay. It all makes me pleased I'm having my daughter as the only bridesmaid and no hen night!!

But I'm really surprised that a travel company would give you details of what a person said in cancelling, and that they let you take over a booking, or gave you any details really.. I've worked in travel for 22 years, I don't think I'd ever be permitted to do that. Seems a bit naughty, but luckily you got the right person on the phone on the day. Phew!

Have a fantastic day, thank goodness that you found out now what the bridesmaid were like. I'd make sure everyone else attending knows it too!!

I think thats probably the best way to do it alfiesmum, keep it nice and simple!

I was really surprised too, I couldn't beleive that she'd actually cancelled it when she said she was just taking 2 names off the booking so I think the poor girl did it to get me off the phone! The manager I spoke to asked me to email him saying 'I take responsibility for this booking as a non-lead passenger' or words to that effect anyway. Maybe he thought this was some way of covering himself?

I think most people have found out some way or another Kelda,so its definately for the best that their not turning up at the wedding-for their own sake!

Thanks nat82, minxy, cabunny, and Juliesdd, looking forward to the wedding now and hopefully ready for any thing else thats thrown at me! No idea what I'd do without this forum, not to sound like a bridezilla but some people don't understand how stressful this is!

Now...not to hijack my own thread but...I'm trying to sell the old bridesmaid dresses now, I've tried ebay but had a non payer as the girl wanted 3 but only won 2, so have managed to sell 1. I've got the other 2 on ebay but not having alot of luck, I've also tried preloved, has anyone else sold bridesmaid dresses and not completely lost out moneywise? Will try any other sites if any suggestions?

well hun, u should feel lucky.. i had one of my bridesmaid play a sick jk on me cos she was to !!!!ing lazy to come to mine.. all she wanted was for me to goto her.. o and on top of that the best man (her bf) was in on it.. so now there's no best man.. .. tho im only down to 2 bridesmaid which is ok.. save me more money :P

But wasn't it them who decide they didn't want to be part of the wedding? Surely if you are not in the wedding party, you have no "right" to be on the hen night?!

I would consider something to shock them - maybe a solicitor's letter or small claim's court - you don't need to go through with anything but the fright may make them think twice about pulling this stunt on anybody else in the future.

And have you thought about "bouncers" who can make sure they don't attempt to turn up & enjoy themselves at your expense?

well.. she decided to tell ,me she had been punched by her bf after a massive argument and also phn me up and pretend to be upset when i did eventually get to thiers... she was sitting there covering her face, her bf was laughing a lil then she removed her hand and nothing was wrong, she was just laughin hysterically.. :mad: i didnt even stop sit down i just walkd right back out the door and went home..

..im guessing she did it cos she was to lazy to walk to mine.. that and it might get her and him out of the whole wedding party so yea.. but i dunno and tbh now i dont care... there just a waste of oxegen.
