I can deal with Iggle Piggle, I find Makka Pakka ever so slightly disturbing though, i think it's his eyes or maybe his strange OCD-like ways remind me of me too much. In the night garden is actually teaching kids bad ways - Mr and Mrs Pontipine having 8 kids, no jobs, awful parenting letting there kids run all over the place and hide in plantpots - what is that teaching them?? :rotfl:

Shame she didn't win, even with all your sabotage plans.

I have to go out to let off steam after spending a few hours in the same room as my Mother, without nights out I would go crazy!! I think once i've got my own place i'll turn into a strange dinner-party-loving homebody, i'm actually most looking forward to having my own kitchen.. how sad is that??

£12 a week, thats harsh, did they tell you that before you moved?? When one of my friends got her first place her rent went up a month after she moved in by about £40pm and they didn't tell her beforehand even though they knew she was going to have a hard time with bills etc anyways and she kicked off enough to not have to pay the increase for an extra month somehow.

I'm not keen on dogs.... even 3ft stuffed ones!!

I've stolen 2 black bags of stuff out the monsters room this morning while he was at creche, one of them is completely full of cuddly toys, i'm not sure what to do with some of the stuff i liberated but most of it is heading to eBay - that and the other 3 boxes, 2 black bags and ever-growing pile of stuff that is my current 'to-eBay' pile...

No they didn't tell me how much but I knew it would go up in April so just have to stomach it I think.

Never thought of Night Garden like that...you're right, they blame eastenders but kids programmes like night garden is where the blame lies!!! I don't mind makka Pakka but little cook out of big cook, little cook really freaks me out. he's scary and I can;t put my finger on it but just not right.

Don't get me wrong, I would go out every Sat if I could but I only have my mum that will baby sit and she lives 45 minutes away now and isn't very reliable. I just give up to be honest. Have a good wknd though...I'm not at all envious!!! And well done on borrowing the outfits. When I do go out I tend to spend sooo much on clothes cos it's such a big event for me!!!!

I used to buy a new outfit every week, wear them once and forget about them. If its a treat for you then you should be allowed a shiny new outfit, I am just ridiculous! I'm trying to avoid buying clothes atm because of the not-really-happening-pre-summer-bikini-esque diet. I'd love to be a size smaller or at least for my bum to be the same size as top half!!

Big cook, little cook was my LOs first TV prog obsession! I can't stand it. It must only take 20mins to film a show because it's all re-used clips. Have you had the discussion about the new cBeebies womans arm yet?? 'mummy, hims (everybody is male in my LOs world) arm is gone, it's a bit gone' I hadn't even noticed before he did.

My friend that kicked off about her rent would kick off about anything, she's one of these amazing people thats always in the right, no matter how wrong she is...

No, mine's a bit small for that yet but I can't believe the fuss that was made about it...poor woman. I thought we were all a bit past discrimination now??

Anyhoo, have a nice MSE free weekend everyone. Think I'm about to realise how obsessed I am!!!!

Only about 25 mins til its gone for the weekend, haha.
My LO started making noises that weren't crying at 11days, which at the time I didn't realise was actually pretty amazing or at least I didn't appreciate that it was and so he's always been pretty vocal, I know kids 6months older than him that don't make anywhere near as much sense as he does but then they're better at other things, like being remotely sane!!
My monster has this strange think atm where he won't just answer yes or no like a normal 2yr old would, its always 'no i have not' 'yep i have done that mummy' I think maybe hes just far too opinionated, wonder where he gets that from...

Afternoon helnag, not had a chance to post with the forum being down and only just getting back into the swing of things! How's the debt busting going? I started a NSD, just on my ownsome and have so far managed 1 lousy day! I think I might need to hibernate, after making sure I have enough food/drink to last, for about a week to not spend any money. I'm even having soup everyday for lunch, lost a few pounds so must be doing me good, ha!

Anyway just a wee quickie to say keep up the good work. x

    Hi,

Well done on the weight loss, I'm trying to be extra good with my eating too, I've put on 1 stone and really want to lose it. I took the dog for a walk last night and was out for over an hour so hopefully that will all add up if I do it as often as possible.

Debt busting has slowed down a bit cos I'm trying to make sure I have enough money in the bank for my middle of the month and end of month bills, I was very nearly short last month so once I'm at the beginning of next month I'll know exactly how much is left for my debts.

It's a bit frustrating but I think I need this time to get to grips with my budget and see how much is left for throwing at my debts. I'm gonna still try and do my payments a day but will wait for my statements to update my sig. Plus my flaming internet is down AGAIN so only have internet when I'm at work til that's sorted!!!

Good luck with the NSD's I seem to always need something like milk or bread which seems to be my failure.

    Helen xx

I've had a really bad week with spending, just bits and bobs but we all know it all adds up. I suppose with having dd1 off school I've been popping to the shops here and there. I've bought cake making stuff and who knows what else. Half term is a nightmare, I've been trying to keep them busy with stuff like making Easter baskets for the Easter egg hunt we're having at my parents this Sunday but there's only so much you can do!!!

Any ideas gratefully appreciated...I also don't have a car AGAIN. I haven't called the AA yet cos I haven't got the spare cash for any repairs should it need to go to a garage so we are carless at the mo. Had planned a few cheap days out, like visiting my friend in Littlehampton and going to the free nature centre near my mums but without a car this is near impossible. Even walking to town is a nightmare cos although it's not far, it's up the steepest hill and with a buggy I actually can't breath once I'm at the top!!!!

Feel like my debt busting has kind of stalled for now but feel positive that once I get to May I'll be able to get back on track.

I have my induction for my new care job next week and should hopefully be able to start working the week after so that will help although my tax credits will obviously go down a lot. Trouble is I need a car as it's homecare. If the worst comes to the worst I'll have to borrow from my dad although I would like to avoid this if at all possible.

Oh well, housework and ironing is all done so about to make a yummy ginger cake. I've never made one before so hopefully it'll come out nice.

    xx

    Hi helnag,

Thanks for posting on my diary! Have now put on my SOA and it is scary! Don't worry about the debt busting stalling, it happens and as you say you'll get back on track.

Hope the car doesn't end up costing too much to repair, they are a nitemare when they breakdown. My last car broke down two years ago and after spending £400 on it, I got rid of it cos couldn't bear to drive it anymore. A bit stupid but at least got a hopefully more reliable one now. Do you know anyone who is handy with cars? My sis's OH is a mechanic, ironically I set them up after doing a cleaning job where he worked, must have know was going to need help saving money, lol.

Anyway almost finishing time, and bummed cos no computer at home so can't post til Tuesday.

Have a great Easter and hope you find something to keep the young 'uns busy! xx
