i bought some anti-static spray from kleeneze that seems to work. it certainly has helped with some of my skirts that suffered with terrible static, especially when worn with tights....they would creep up as i walked...up and up  !!!! i think it only cost £3.

When does the static take effect? I guess you are standing on carpet. If it's at work, do you also get shocks from metal door handles, etc? If so, see if your employer will treat the carpet with anti-static spray. If it happens at home too, spray your carpet with diluted fabric conditioner.

Also, shave/wax your legs! I have a lovely pair of trousers that I can't wear when I have hairy legs because they're so static :o

I know exactly what you mean. I don't wear the trousers that often as a consequence!

A little tip I learnt in the '70's when nylon seemed to be fashionable! spray the inside of your trousers LIGHTLY with hairspray,it really works.
