Wolfhound - did you wet the microfibre cloth first or did you put the stardrops in water before cleaning the TV screen please? Thanks. Presume this will also clean the computer screen?????????

Going off to clean the car windscreen in a mo and then the conservatory windows.......................:):)
Hi Lara, the Stardrops was in the water, I squeezed most of the water out so its was nearly dry. Yes, I did the computer screen too. I've yet to find something that you can't clean with M&S.

I bought 2 cloths from asda (88p each but nice size and thickness) for the first time and cleaned the windows with them last night but they have gone smeary.

What have I done wrong (one damp, one buff). I cant polish too hard as I have aa I've got quite weak wrists.
I think the trick is to use three cloths, one wet, then one dry, then when the second one gets damp, use the dry one to buff. I hope that makes sense :D

Just used a towelling microfibre cloth to clean the green algae off the inside of my greenhouse - worked a treat with just hot water!

I found a Spontex floor wonder cloth in Tesco £2.99 each - microfibre - I use one for the windows and its better than my microfibre cloth at that - my windows are gleaming - I sewed 2 together and use clippits to tie it to my rubber brush to do the floor and its just wonderful - It does tiles too and unfortunately Tesco had a sticker saying discontinued last week so I bought 3!
No chemicals needed or any dishwashing drops.
Saving in my terramundi pot £2, £1 and 50p just for me! :j
  • Ive been buying micorfibre cloths from poundland - 3 for a pound and they come in different colours. However was in Netto's this week (somewhere I dont normally go as its not local) and they had a microfibre duster. Think it was £1 but could have been £1.99 - bad memory - anyways its a good size and we bought it for my hubby to polish his beloved bass guitar - and he's well impressed. Its a different texture (?if thats the right word to use) than the microfibre cloths Ive had before, very soft almost silky !

thanks to everyone who has contributed to this thread (there are too many to thank personally!) and who have championed the various uses of microfibre cloths and also stardrops - i bought my first pack of cloths 2 weekends ago and finally found some stardrops in my local thrift-type shop this week - i will never look back! now all i need to get is a larger one for doing the floor... and some for my boyfriend's house, some more colours for mine....and...and...and... it's turning into an addiction already!

I can't help but think that a lot of these big manufacturers of cleaning products will be starting to panic a bit. I think we have been brainwashed into thinking that we need a different product for each job, then along comes something a simple as Microfibre cloths and Stardrops and you can clean practically everything. I wont be buying anything else from now on
and it doesn't make me itch either :rotfl:
  • I've bought a new set of microfibre cloths from my local Savers however yet to find any Stardrops - any other MSE local to Rickmansworth/Watford that knows of a good cheap source?
    I want to...........?

I bought mine from SAVERS. Did you ask them if they had any? In my local they are with the normal cleaning items. Perhaps they had run out (too many MSE peeps buying them;) ) or they may have a whole box load of them out the back waiting to be put on display:eek: !
