Ebay Item already sold

I won an auction this morning, in fact I was the only bidder and my lowest bid won.
Immediately auction ended I paid via Paypal.
I've just had an email from the seller telling me the item had already been sold!
My guess is that he wanted more money than I offered
and now won't let me have it. Of course I can't prove this and if he doesn't have the item there's nothing I can do, is there?
How can I get my money back?

Do not allow the risk of failure to stop you trying!

I can only think that you would have to open an item not received dispute, But there's a mininum time on that of 10 days to give seller time to post. If you paid by paypal you'll get a refund. If google doesn't know it, how should i?0

Have you asked for your money back from the seller, if they dont want to sell it to you they will pay you back..♥♥♥Life is too short to wake up with regrets ♥ So love the people who treat you right. ♥ Forget about the one’s who don’t ♥ Believe everything happens for a reason ♥ If you get a second chance, grab it with both hands ♥ If it changes your life, let it ♥ Nobody said life would be easy, they just promise it would be worth it ♥0

Give them a item not received strike or non performing seller. Clearly sellers such as this should not be on ebay if they can't allow a item to go for the price it has sold at on auction.0

you will get your money back from paypal
just open a dispute as soon as you can
deserves a neg IMO,bloody cheek not even refunding the money without being asked0 -
Like the others have said firstly concentrate on getting your money back them neg them out of the water.
You are not negging as such for refusing to sell, you are negging them for being too stupid to refund your money immediately and making you have to ask for it.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Still no response and no refund!
It's so frustrating. I spent quite some time this morning watching my bid, paid immediately then this.
He sent me a message about 20 mins after bidding closed but he must have known last night that he'd sold item elsewhere not at 8:20 this morning. He could have at least sent me a message to stop me paying.
I'll let you know what happens.
PS bid on the same item, Buy it Now, from another seller and it's already been despatched. That seller will get full marks from me.Do not allow the risk of failure to stop you trying!0 -
I would definitely neg him and if you open a NPB dispute and he does it often enough he'll get his paypal account withheld, I think..Undergrad law student. Take my advice with a pinch of salt! :rotfl:0

He gives us sellers on ebay a bad name, as above raise a paypal dispute then Neg him but a word off caution don't threaten him with Neg feedback in any emails as he can use that against you.Whoa! This image violates our terms of use and has been removed from view0
